Has anyone applied for the 2011 fall nursing for TVCC?

I applied for the nursing program Jan 2011 and a little nervous because I only have 9 points with a 3.2 GPA. Anyone else applied?

the counselor at tvcc said theyll take in 160 if im correct and yes he did say that very few come in with 12 or 13 points which for me is an advantage because I have 12 points total. I did not take take any courses at tvcc I took them at Paris Junior College, they also have a nursing program but they only take in 60 students out of 200+ and its mainly based on GPA there. Honors are fun but I took my honors class at Eastfield College. Have you taken HESI A2? I was extremely worried about the math portion but if you study the study guide then you'll be fine, other than that you'll pass it.

Wow, 160!!! Parking will be a mess next fall - and I am with you on the 12 points. I am excited, but I won't be happy until I get that letter or email in my hand - lol.

I forgot about DCCCD, they have online honors classes.

Yes they do have online honors courses I took mine online, it was a phil class intro to the bible with Prof. ******* I took mine in the wintermester but it was fun and easy lol it was an extra essay you had to write to get the Honors on your transcript! Great you have 12 points too, well then maybe we'll meet pretty soon then! cause the counselor said very few come in with 13 or 12 points, so hopefully its very good news for us. Im hoping to get a notification real soon from both Tvcc and Paris Junior College, if i would have known sooner taking classes at Tvcc would have gotten me the total 13 points i would have taken them there. So is the nursing program there good, ive hear negative things from there and from Pjc and I wanna go to the school that has the best learning experience!:)

I have not heard anything bad. I've heard it's hard, but it's supposed to be. I have heard it's tough, but a good school. I have a friend in now and she said there are cliques, but that's anywhere. I think you will do just fine without that 13th point. :) 12 should be enough.

Hmmm, I didn't know they had wintermester honors. At TVCC you need 12 hours to graduate honors. So I will need 2 more classes. I may look into that.

yea i know its supposed to be hard of course lol well a girl told me that the teachers were lazy and didnt wanna teach much but i think its just nonsense.as far as cliques go yes they are everywhere but im not worried bout that to be honest im more interested in learning and becoming a good nurse. I can already tell you I wont know anyone there but I would know a few at pjc but i'm more interested in attending tvcc i feel more comfortable at tvcc.

but i think she said it because she really wants me to go to pjc with her lol when are we supposed to find out bout acceptance around what time frame did your friend find out? and well to get into dcccd honors you have to have a gpa of 3.6 and above if i remember correctly. They were a lil reluctant in putting me in it because when i transferred there my gpa went to zero but my gpa before transfer was high so they had to call dept head to get an okay..

We should find out end of March - first of April sometime. And I am with you on the cliques, I am not a shy person and I don't give a flip if others don't like me. That sounded snotty, but I am outgoing and I love people.

I will check into the DCCCD honors. GPA should not be a problem. Unless I bomb this semester.

yea im shy in certain situations but most of the time im not and i dont care what people think either to be honest lol hey yea chek with them on their honors if you go to eastfield, word of advice if your going to meet the advisor be there at least 15 min before 8 or sometime after 5:30 that's their low time other than that they are super packed even down the hallway, ugh, i hated going there for that reason. What area do you live in? Im hoping to meet somebody in the Greenville tx area, though i live in terrell but for babysitting purposes ill be coming in from greenville to school after i drop off my kiddos at the inlaws. Hopefully i meet someone who lives around greenville, so that they may ride with me because i get bored easily when im driving certain distances lol.

Ugh, yes I have had to wait in the hallway there. That place is always crazy busy..I live right outside of Kaufman, close to Scurry. Wow, Greenville, that's a bit of a drive. It would be nice to find someone close to you to share a ride with.

My name is Melanie I have applied for Fall 2011 ADN program. I have 10 points now, but with

400 applicants applying what the are chances? I hope i get in because I have applied at ElCentro and

Brookhaven in the past and could not get in. Please pray for me. I have already been let down from other

schools. If I dont get in all I can do is keep trying. :)
