Published

I was just curious if anyone has actually ans. the 265 questions for NCLEX and passed? Does that mean you never get out of the gray area?

Some people have the the min. and still pass or fail....Thanks!

I had several friends who had 265 questions & passed. I, however, was not so lucky. I've taken it twice & both times had 265 & didn't pass yet. :banghead:

Don't get dicouraged by that. The computer at the test site bases the number of questions you get on how you are doing throughout the test. good luck to you...:p

Well, I just took the NCLEX and I feel almost positive that I failed. I got 265 questions and it was really hard. I felt like I guessed on most of them and that everything I had studied was purposely not on the test. There was stuff I've never heard of, medications that I had never ever seen and so many who would you see first questions and select all that apply. I just want to cry but no use crying over spilled milk. Im more dissappointed in myself than anything else. I know some people actually pass with 265 but I honestly don't feel that Im one of them. Im so tired of being in the books and reading and reading and doing question after question and still having problems answering questions. My test taking skills are horrible and Im sure that didn't help at all on my test today. BLAH!!! :bluecry1:

Well I got my results and after 265 questions I PASSED! I couldn't believe it.

If you go to the NCSBN website, it explains the CAT testing by a powerpoint and how it's graded.

A classmate of mine just took the nclex and had 265 questions and passed. She scored a little over 900 on the Hesi.

i am not an authority on the nclex, however, i have done alot of research and talked to alot of people and this is what i have found out...

you can get 75 questions and pass

you can get 75 questions and fail

you can get 265 questions and pass

you can get 265 questions and fail

the outcome depends on you..the computer adapts to your ability. if you are not doing well with >75% of the questions, it continues to assess your ability. even if you run out of time the computer grades you on the last 60 questions- that is if the last 60 are above 75% then you pass, if they are below, then you fail. and yes, there are a certain number of people who will get 265 questions no matter how well they do, for the purpose of control. i had a teacher who worked for pearson vue and explained this to all of us. she told us just to do your best and the results would speak for themselves.

on another note, she did tell us that when you are trying to decide "which answer is more right" to always go with maslow...physiological before psychological, then the abc's.

hope this helps :typing

I'm a LPN- I graduated from a RN program two months ago. Just took boards yesterday- got all 265 questions. I was there the entire six hours. I took no breaks. My legs were cramping up on me because I had been sitting too long. There was only 32 seconds remaining on the clock when I got to the last question. I was extremely calm when I started the exam. I felt prepared, I studied hard- practicing relentlessly with NCLEX-RN 3500. So far, three people in my graduating class got 265 questions- only one passed. NCLEX (nursing's form of hazing) is without mercy.

i just finished my nclex rn in an hour ago and im really anxious cos i finished all the 265 questions ... with about 1 hour more remaining in my time.... why 265 questions? why me? why ???? please help me i dont know what to do... thanks..

I have taken this thing twice, and both times had 265 questions. Just take a deep breath, keep yourself busy while you wait, and try not to worry. 265 questions does not determine whether you pass or fail. Good luck!:D

hi,

me too. same questions. It doesn't matter how many questions. It matter how you did it (above pass or below). My friend took with 265 and passed.

still waiting for my result. I took it Oct.1....let me know if you got yours.

hi everyone!

i took my nclex last october 8, and anxiously waiting for the result. what worries me more, i only got 1 SATA - giveaway question, & no computations! more on pharmacology and infection control.. the meds questions just doesn't stop popping out. my computer shut down @ 265. i was exhausted and teary eyed when i left the testing center. despite of my experience, i'm still hoping to pass the exam.

SATA is just another format and many do not get any maths. Hang in there and good luck
