Several of my classmates and I did this by following the application procedure as outlined on the BVNPT website that I have directed you to in a previous post. It is straightforward.
can i ask you what was the reason that you challenge it for?
I completed more than 50% of an RN program, way more than the minimum equivalent to an LVN education. Like my classmates, I wanted to work and earn more money than I was earning as a CNA. My nursing program had allowed those who completed 75% of the program to take the NCLEX RN, but changed the rules with my class. Those of us who needed to work, opted for the LVN license. It is a very simple process. You get the application, fill it out, have your nursing school fill out their portion, everything goes to the Board, they decide that you meet the criteria, and they allow you to test.
got it!! thank you so much for the info!
Back in my day I had to write the Board a letter or call them, don't remember, to get the application. There was no such thing as downloading it from a website! So, it is even easier for you. Only problem might come with your school if they decide to be jackwagons about it.
there are being jackwagons! the first thing they did is bill me $1400 so i can retake the class which is only two dawm credicts (nclex review and an xtra semester) they did not offer me any other type of support or help! really they just want xtra money! thats why i feel like i should be eligible to challenge the boards!
Unfortunately, if your school does not cooperate in signing off on your application paperwork, you will be out of luck. I suspect they will do just that.
actually my nursing director just did! but she was very negative about it! and told me it wasnt gonna work! i would love to proof her wrong! i just sent my application unfortunately sacramento is so backed up! i was told the process would take up to 8 weeks! will see waht hapens!
by the way! she didn't like the idea of me not having $1400 for the class! thats when she got so negative! hehehe
I am surprised she bothered. Be careful now, that they don't pull something with your RN paperwork once you jump through their hoops.
