Harris County Jail? UTMB-Carole Young? Galveston County Jail?

Has anybody worked for Harris County Jail? If so, what are working conditions like? Carole Young Facility for UTMB? And wondering who has contract for Galveston County Jail now? Conmed did have it but no longer does. Looking for correctional LVN jobs around the Houston area. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Can't answer your question about working conditions, other than noticing that the Harris County Sheriff's Office website advert for LVNs has been a constant banner for over a year now. Makes you wonder why they are ALWAYS looking for LVNs??

UTMB Health appears to have the current contract for Galveston County Jail, according to the website job adverts.

Seems like LVN job opportunities in the Harris County/Galveston County/UTMB correctional care areas are strong.

I've applied for UTMB correctional jobs, a lot of them. There always seems to be openings, but I've yet to get even one phone call. Good luck, UTMB is hard to get your foot in the door at.

I currently work for utmb/cmc. They are always in need of nurses so I am puzzled to why you have not been contacted. If you are still interested let me know and I can give you good contact info. I also worked through harris county through agency. I loved it! To become staff you have to go through a lot. Credit check, fb, lie detector test, residential check. Need anymore info just ask

Geeze when I worked for UTMB I didn't have to do a lie detector test.

I worked for Galveston County Jail & it was a nice jail. Really big & spread out so a lot of walking. It was all on paper & run by Conmed at the time.
