Hi! This is my first post, but I've been reading a lot from previous posters.
We relocated here from SC for my husband's job 18 months ago. I am looking to change careers to Nursing. My situation is a little different. I already have a BA in History and French.
I really do want to do a BSN program in the area, but I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience. I would also seriously consider working towards associate degree now, but am leaning towards BSN. I will need all the science prerequisites no matter what program. I was just curious what paths some of you chose, how/where you did prerequisites, etc.
I was seriously considering doing some of the prerequisites at TCC, then applying to ODU. However, Sentara also seems like a good path. I am planning to stay away from schools that don't seem to make it easy to transfer credits. His job could relocate again in a couple of years (but still in Virginia as he is licensed here). I don't want to take a bunch of classes then move somewhere else in the state and have to start all over. This feels like my last "start over" (I'm 34 yikes!)
I don't want to wait forever to start a program, but my timing and schedule are very flexible. I own my own business, so that helps.
Any experiences or tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
