also when half the students are failing and many of those are repeating - it's pretty good job security for the instructors and a pretty good scam for the institution.
Only in a corrupt, rigged system would failing your students be considered job security.
I personally (thankfully) haven't had that experience. I have, on the other hand, been in a two classes during my pre-req's, that a majority of the students failed. The next semester that professor was replaced. That is not job security.
We started out with 50 students. Almost everyone passed the first semester, but about half failed the second semester. After that most of us finished to graduation.
