Gwynedd Mercy University Weekend Option Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi, I wanted to know if anyone attended Gwynedd Mercy University's BSN weekend option program, or is planning on applying for the Fall 2017. I am unable to find a lot of information about the program just some basic stuff. I would like to know about the work load as well as the times of meeting on Saturdays and Sundays. Also, I would like to know what a typical Saturday/Sunday is like in the program. Moreover, I have applied for the Fall 2017 BSN weekend option as well as 24 month BSN program. I am just waiting to hear back from them. Any information that you have to share is welcomed and appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I was wondering the same thing. I was trying to figure out how would they do the classes. Will they be half online and then the class on the weekend? I live in MD and I have a family, I want to do the 16 months but I just can't see driving there everyday. Three years is long but I think coming up on the weekends will be better. If I don't get in I will have to stick with the 16 month program and work something out. Where will you be taking biochemistry at?

The advisor informed spoke to told me that the summer classes are online only. Yes, I understand how the traveling back and forth everyday from MD would be a bit much especially having a family. Hopefully, the 3 years will go by quickly. How long do they give you to send in your deposit for the ABSN program? I found out that I have until May. I will probably just try to send it in next month. I am taking biochemistry at a Community College for a much cheaper price.

I emailed her yesterday because they had me set up for the wrong start for January. I applied for may which I should have just applied for August because these days are going by so fast. Spring deadline was October the 16 I just got my acceptance October 30, but this paper states that the summer enrollment is due in February and the Fall enrollment is due in June. Is the biochemistry class you taking called biochemistry or is it chemistry ll. The one at my community college says General Chem ll but it has the same description as Gwyendd Med.

The title of the class is biochemistry which is chem 118 at CCP. I hope that they straighten that all out for you asap. If you get into the weekend program we will more than likely be classmates.

I hope they do to. Yes we will be classmates, and I wonder how many do they actually accept.

I was wondering the same thing as far as how many people are in a cohort for the weekend program.

Nish76 do you know a lot about this weekend program? Every time I look up information, which I can barely find. It always says that this program is ADN for the 1st two years an then that last year your BSN. I was trying too see if that is true?

Thank you that was helpful and Paul also emailed me and let me know that they changed it 2 years ago to just the BSN. I hope they received my transcripts so they can let me know something, because I would rather go this route than to do the accelerated.

Hi Lovely39, did you find out anything in regards to being able to attend the weekend program or are you going to just stick with the accelerated program?

Hello Nish I actually just got off the phone with Mr Wambol they are just waiting for my transcript from the Community College I attended in North Carolina. So once they get that they will be able to proceed with my application. I have requested it twice and don't understand why they have not received it. Hopefully they receive it this week, because I really feel the weekend program will be better for me. I would like to get it out the way faster but with bills and family I need a stretch because I still need to work. :) I am going to do another request since its free and hopefully they get it.

Hopefully, they will receive your transcript this week. Yes, I agree with getting it out the way faster. I Have you looked into the 24 month program which is just 2 evenings during the week and I the weekends? I applied to that program too, but they told me that they will not render a decision until I send in the transcript for this semester for my microbiology class. I am still up in the air with requesting the transcript to be sent to them next month. You would still be able to work if you were in that program too. It is a year less then Gwynedd too.

I applied for that program also which is the same with me they won't render a decision until my A and P class is done. I am also submitting my application today to Thomas Jefferson they have two 24 month BSN acclerated programs. One is like a traditional where you go 5 days a week with breaks and the other one is 2 nights and weekends but is still considered full time. I was going to do the day one, but when I seen that they were offering the night one made me change my mind and you can only apply to one. My transcript that Gwynedd is waiting for Thomas Jefferson just received on Tuesday and I requested them both at the same time.
