Hi Everyone!!!
I am about to apply to GWU's program! Does anyone know when we hear back by?
Hi All,I received an email today that I have been accepted into GW's ABSN fall 2015 cohort. Such a tough decision because of the campus location, clinical locations, and the price! I only have until April 3 to decide, definitely one of the biggest decisions of my life!
Hello, Congratulations! When did you apply just out of curiosity?
Hello, Congratulations! When did you apply just out of curiosity?
Thanks! I received my first communication from GW on 2/6/15 which thanked me for applying and reminded me about the W2 program. The next communucation that I received was on 2/24/15 which stated that NursingCAS released my application to GWU and later that same day my application was sent to the review committee. I don't recall the exact date that I submitted all of my information but it was not long before their initial deadline.
@jess647 I just called them, they said the issue is my nursingCAS is still verifying even though I applied over four weeks ago! They said there having problems since the CAS is processed up in Boston, and they have had so many snow days with the blizzards. So it could still be another 2 weeks before they can even review my application...GRRR. But you can't control the weather. So hopefully I hear by April and before I have to decided about another school :/
I just declined my spot at GW. While it is a cheaper program and smaller cohort, I did not like the location of the nursing school campus and I would have preferred to have clinicals at a large university hospital. I also checked their NCLEX pass rate and somehow, it dropped. I believe they also have new leadership there.
Don't worry if you haven't heard anything yet... Once they receive your application, they email you, then tell you that it is initially reviewed, goes to final admissions committee for a final decision. After it goes to final committee, it should take from a week to a few weeks.
Their application opened in October. I submitted mine in Nov, but had confusions about NursingCAS transcripts so I didn't get verified until end of December. Different NursingCAS staff can say different things, so make sure to double check with them. GW are rolling; therefore, it is in the best advantage to send it in as early as possible. While applications opened up i October, the admissions office told me that they didn't start reading applications until the end of Jan.
Good luck!
