gwinnett tech new asn program

Published

just wanted to know if anyone here were going ro apply to gwinnett tech new asn nursing program.

call the school and find out when the next information session is. the app deadline is jan 15th for fall 2009 and you have to have eng 191 mat 191 and all your science done. psy191 also. try gpc you only have to have 1 science done to apply to their program.

I stopped by Gwinnett Tech the other day to get some info on the program. The new Recruitment Center is really nice and helpful. There are 2 RN/ADN Nursing Information Sessions left- Thursday 10/16 at 7pm and Friday 10/17 at 1pm. While you do need to register for the meetings, they do not expect them to fill up.

Hopefully, I will see some of you there. I am going to the Friday 10/17 @ 1pm.

I am so excited about this program. :monkeydance:

Hi Mommy4,

I'm considering attending Gwinnett Tech and pursuing the ADN program. I need to get all of my pre-reqs out of the way. I'm wondering if you've already taken your core classes and did you take them at Gwinnett Tech?

Thanks!:)

Just an update:

I just went to Gwinnett Tech today to get more info. I think I will pursue the ADN at Gwinnett Tech. They will only be accepting 40 applicants for the ADN program in 2009. I'm hoping to get my core classes out of the way and apply for the 2010 Nursing Program. They have completely done away with the LPN program.

I'm deciding against GPC because I want to attend school in or near Lawrenceville GA and GPC Nursing Program will only be at GPC until 2012. Also, they don't offer any of the science classes at the Lawrenceville location, so I'd have to attend Clarkston or Dunwoody campus and it's not the most convenient for me. Don't get me wrong, I want this pretty bad and I'm willing to sacrifice, but, I have 2 children and if I have the option of going to school close to home, it's a no brainer for me. Only concern will be getting accepted into an RN program (after my pre-reqs are out of the way) that will be close to home.

Is anyone planning on applying to Gwinnett Tech for the Fall of 2011? I am finishing up prereq's at Georgia Perimeter, but I've heard their nursing program isn't the best of programs!

I also check into the new Gwinnett Tech RN program. They give out an ADN, not an ASN, but this means the same thing. When I recently spoke to the director she said you had to have ALL pre-reqs completed before even being able to apply. Which essentially means you are finished 1 year before you can start the program. That's kinda crazy if you ask me. Why do this? Chances are you will forget some of your A& P's sitting out for a year.

I also considered GPC, but after reading all the horrible posts about GPC, I am steering clear of that program. Let me know if anyone finds out anything different.

Specializes in None.

I'm currently attending Gwinnett Tech for the ADN program. Due to my "slow learning" of math, I wont be done with my pre-reqs till 2010. So I'm applying for the 2011 Fall Program. The good thing is that since I have extra time, I'm taking all the other required courses, so all I will have to take is the nursing classes and clinicals.

Im planning on attending Gwinnette Community College in 2011 but im currently living in Arizona. I've finished all of my pre-reqs for the Univerisity level here in Az but I don't know which entrance test Gwinnette C College has. Az colleges/universities had the Net (nursing entrance test) and now switched to HESI. Can someone help me out pls?

I am applying to the Gwinnett Program for the Fall. I recently went thru

the program at Gordon and failed by a few points. I'm hoping that Gwinnett

is a better experience. I didn't feel like the instructors prepared us for what

was going to be on the test, hence there was a huge fail rate for the 1st

semester. I know someone already in the program and she said that the

gwinnett instructors do a great job preparing you and it reflects in all of their

grades! thats encouraging! :yeah:

i would love to hear from anyone who has already gotten into the program. would like to know what your thoughts are and how your doing? My past school had more than 1/2 fail out the 1st semister!
