I had planned to apply, but I just found out that you have to have all the science prereqs, and some of the other prereqs, completed by the end of this fall. I already have a bachelors in social work, so I only need the 3 sciences. I am taking a&p I now at Gwinnett tech, but I am not comfortable with trying to take a&p 2 and micro together in the fall. So, my plan now is to still take a&p 2 in the fall and micro in the spring at Gwinnett and focus on getting in the 2009 ADN program at either North Ga (has a Gainesville campus) or Athens Tech.
i dont have enough science done yet, so i am also going to apply in 09'. i was going to apply to athens tech also but they do not do student loans and i will need a student loan to help since i wont be working. have you thought about gpc. i know they get some bad reviews but i think that i will still try to apply.

will the credits transfer to N.GA from Gwinnett Tech? I know there are a lot of tech schools that will not txr to other universities. I only need A&P 1 and 2 as well since I already have a B.S. in Community Health.
yes north georgia does take gwinnett tech college credits. you can go to north georgia's nursing web site and they have a list of tech schools that they will take.
I didn't know Athens doesn't do loans. I still have student loans I'm paying from my first bachelor's, so I'm trying to avoid getting more at all costs.
North Georgia does have a list of the accredited tech schools on their website. Gwinnett and Athens tech are accredited. I know Lanier and North Metro techs are not.
I am going to apply to GPC too. I have to admit I am hesitant about that school because of all I have read on this site and I have heard the same kinds of things from people. I am going to also apply to Ga state's accelerated bachelor's program. I want to apply to a lot of schools so hopefully I will get in at least one for next fall. I don't want to wait any longer than that just to get started. The only problem with applying to so many is that they almost all have different entrance exams. So, I will have to take the NET, the TEAS, and the NLN-RN. If I had applied to Gwinnett tech also, they are requiring the new version of the HESI. That is frustrating.
i will might only apply to gpc and gwinnett because of taking all the different entrance test. i was trying to find study web sites for the one at gwinnett tech but i couldnt find anything. please let me know if you know of any. good luck on getting in:)
I took the TEAS test for N. GA and bought the study guide...you should be able to find practice tests online...the TEAS reminded me of a simpler version of the ACT.
Is the science section of the teas very involved? I didn't take the act, only the sat and that was almost 20 years ago! What has been your experience with nga admission process? Are you trying for admission next fall?
From my info sheet for Gwinnett techs entrance exam-- the hesi is now the Evolve Reach A2 test through Elsevier publishing.

Does anyone know if I go through an LPN program but decide to get my ASN or BSN later, which courses will transfer? For instance, instead of taking AHS 101- Human A&P, could I take BIO 193 and still get credit in my LPN program? What about for AHS 104, and AHS 109? Do these courses translate in BIO 194, and BIO 197 at the associate degree level? I just need clarity. Thank you.
The AHS classes do not transfer to other schools and they won't count for the college-level classes needed for an associates or bachelors. They only apply towards the technical school career programs (like lpn, medical asst, surgical tech). I have a friend that recently finished the lpn at Lanier Tech and she is now working on her prereqs to apply to the North Ga bridge program. She still has to take all the same classes I do (a&p 1 and 2, microbiology, etc) but she will not have to take the first year (or at least not the first semester) of the nursing courses.
