Gwinnett Tech RN Program
I'm currently working on my pre-reqs for Nursing at Gwinnett Tech and will be applying next year for the 2011 Fall. If you go to the school site, it has a information worksheer with all the info. The admission requirements is based on GPA,test score and panel interview. They only admit 40 students per year. Good Luck!

Other second career students?
I'm a second career student as well. I graduated HS in 2000 with a 8 month old daughter. I always wanted to be a nurse so I began working at a bank part time and going to college full-time. Well life happened and I could not give school 100% and do a good job with raising my daughter, so I quit and just worked full time in banking. Then I went into the mortgage finance field and thought I found something else I could see myself doing as a career. Well we all know what happened..the Financial crash in 2007..I found myself w/o a job and back working at the bank. I then realized I could not do this for the rest of my life and enrolled back into school last year. I have a 10 and 2 year old and plan to start Nursing classes in 2011. Good Luck Everyone!!

Anyone applying in 2011
I'm now trying to make the famous decision of And or BSN..I'm planning to apply to the 2011 ADN program my school offers which is 18 months. There's a private college that has a 2 year BSN prgram but is more expensive. Part of me feels like I should get the BSN out the way since it is my goal anyway while I'm in "school mode"..any suggestions?

Brenau Part Time BSN Program
I was looking into going here. I'm currently working on my Pre-Reqs for Gwinnett Tech's ADN program. How expensive is the Brenau program?

Gwinnett Tech Nursing Program
Re: Gwinnett Tech Nursing Programcan you help me out? what did you have to do? take the pre-reqs first then apply or apply and take the entry test first and then take the pre-reqs? i don't know the order! You have to take the pre req's 1st. Eng 1101,College Algebra,PSY1101,AP1 and AP2, and MICRO. Then you apply to Nursing program (deadline Jan 15th for Fall Entry) If you qualify for GPA and Pre-Req's you will be invited to take Nursing Exam (HESI 2). Program is done in LockStep with 40 students admitted each Fall. Hope that helps

Anyone applying in 2011
mee tooo! i'm planning to apply to the 2011 gwinnett technical college adn program here in georgia. i've worked in banking/finance for the last 10 years and decided last year to return to school. i have two kids 10 and 2 and i work full-time. i have to take some ls math classes so i can't take my science pre-req's until they are done. they admit 40 student in jan for the fall semester, so i won't be done until the end of 2010. in the meantime i've been knocking out the remainder core courses my planned schedule: winter 2010 humanities human growth and develop math 99a spring 2010 math 99b ap i summer 2010 ap ii college algebra fall 2010 micro speech good luck everyone!! gwinnett tech new asn program
I'm currently attending Gwinnett Tech for the ADN program. Due to my "slow learning" of math, I wont be done with my pre-reqs till 2010. So I'm applying for the 2011 Fall Program. The good thing is that since I have extra time, I'm taking all the other required courses, so all I will have to take is the nursing classes and clinicals.

ADN or BSN
I'm currently working on my pre-reqs for the ADN program now being offered at Gwinnett Technical College. I've heard conflicting information from people about being a Registered BSN or ADN. Will I be able to find a job or fairly compete for one with just an ADN, or will I be wasting my time? I was told that more hospitals are wanting a BSN. Any opinions..Advice?
