Is anyone here applying to the 2017 session? I've seen some other GTC threads from previous years and am wondering if there are any current pre-nursing students lurking around. Those were fun to read, btw.
I just recently took the Kaplan for the first time and will be taking it again in January so I can hopefully get a better score.
Is anyone completely done with the admissions process? I'm anxious to see who gets in and who doesn't because it doesn't seem like there's a sure-fire way to tell based on what I've seen. Time will tell! I sure hope I'm one of the lucky ones.
Haha, I hear you. My heart skipped a beat when I saw I had a letter from gtc even though I knew full well it wasn't a decision letter, lol. Much too early for that but just seeing the envelope got me excited.
Well guys, good and bad news. Ended up going and bugging the advisers again. List has been compiled of students which was made up of 85 students. (normally it's over 100 each year) Bad news is that we dropped Dekalb so normally we have anywhere from 65-70 seats, well now we're at 52 ish. The other conclusion that i've came up with is this: because they didn't just spreadsheet and take the first 52 students let's me know that this ISN'T GPA/KAP based to a certain extent, I know they have a "black list" of people that have cheated, but i'm almost certain there's a hidden list from the science teachers floating around. I also bet they ask them what kind of candidate/student you are and look at things like attendance and stuff. The adviser also said it would be atleast 1-2 weeks before they're done and we find out.
I'm not sure I understand..? That seems like a lot of strange information. A "black list" of people that cheated? I'm going to call an advisor tomarrow.
Also, I don't see how there could be a blacklist. If there was any evidence that someone had cheated they would have failed out of the class. It's something that would have been taken care of prior to that student applying to the program.
Kimzie, if you do happen to reach an advisor can you please let me know what they say?

Will do. I'll be going to advisement on Monday to see what I can find out for myself. Seems like every student I've spoken to has different information.
Yes, it is! On one hand I don't want to bug the advisers because we'll all find out eventually, (and I really could learn some patience, lol) but on the other hand, I would like to have some kind of consistency.
Same here!! I hate bugging them but it's just so important (to all of us) that I want to know the game plan. And man oh man, patience is not my strong point lol!!!
So, I went to advisement today. I'd planned not to but I was in the building and figured why not. No new info, though. The advisor said it'll be within the next two weeks when we get the emails. I didn't really ask anything else. I'm just going to wait...that's all we can do. I'm hoping we'll see some changes on the banner this week but if not, I'm pretty confident we'll see something next week.
And technically, this is the week is the second after the deadline so all we have to do it wait and breathe, lol.
Well, I'm glad there isn't any new "strange" news. Sounds like the process is the same as it has been in the past, so I'm somewhat comforted by that! Just haaate waiting lol thank you for the info!! Fingers crossed for us!!!
