Has anybody heard about this school? They have locations in San Mateo & Concord, CA. The one in Concord is fairly new and I would like to know if it has a good reputation. Thanks.

Christine, How are you like the school so far? Did you shop around and look at other programs? I'm thinking about going to the one in Modesto. Did they give you stats for grads getting employment?

I am transfering from Merritt College's program and so I really like the school....I did shop around and found this school the best one so far...I like the fact that they offer an evening program...as far as employment goes, they did not give me stats for that, but they do have job placement, and that is a plus...I do not think that there will be a problem finding a job once you graduate because of this fact. Good luck to you

Christine - True, employment should be a major concern... Another big thing is if by going to Gurnick, would I be able to transfer into a LVN to RN, like at Modesto Junior College. Is it based on actual courses or if you have the LVN license?

Will Gurnick have a RN program?

In order to transfer to the RN program you need to have your license, but check with the school and see what thier requirements are also. I do not know if Gurnick will have an RN program, but I have heard rumors of one in the works.

BTW, I meant to say before, "...shouldn't be a major concern".

I'm thinkin about going to gurnick in concord instead of carrington college in antioch. I have to visit the campus first but looking at the price of gurnick I'm already likeing what I see. Lol...

I thought Gurnick was expensive! Is it less that Carrington?

Carrington is more expensive...$44k at Gurnick it is only $27k

how much financial aid do they give?

It depends. You have to complete a FASFA which looks at your situation individually. Are you meeting them yet?

Any updates on thus school?.. I'm thinking on going in July?

Boots21,

I am at the Concord Campus in the evening and about ready to finish the prereq class. I absolutly love it there. The teachers are awesome, staff is friendly and helpful and just really happy with the whole experience. There is a lot of studying involved, but it pays off in the end...right now I am maintaining a B average and those that are struggling to pass, are getting help from the director and instructor.

I hope you decide to go there, in my opinion, it is well worth the money and I think you would really like it there.

Best of luck to you
