2013 guidelines for new zealand registered nurse

Published

Hi everyone!

I am a registered nurse in the Philippines and I was wondering if my qualifications meet the new requirements:

An 11-month experience as Nurse trainee/Volunteer Nurse in various fields of Nursing in different hospitals;

and more than a year as a paid Staff nurse.

I am in doubt because other agencies for New zealand requires 2 years paid experience while others say it's okay if it's unpaid.

I had read the NCNZ and it says: Two years post-registration nursing practice as a registered nurse of at least 2,500 hours within the five years immediately preceding the date of the application --however, it wasn't specified if it is paid or unpaid experience.

Can someone please clarify regarding the matter?

Thank you!

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

My suggestion would be to ask them yourself as the end answer has to come from them to whether they accept your application or not

Hi. I think you better contact or email the nursing council. In my time, they don't mind if it is paid or unpaid experience as long as you meet their required hours.
