I just received my Guam RN license last November 2014, and am currently seeking employment. The thing is I can only apply online since I presently reside here in the Philippines. I am an American citizen. Can anyone in Guam or who knows people in Guam help me out? I have a current BLS and ACLS card as well. Thank you.

My son and daughter-in-law live in Guam. Are you military?
Hello wave! I used to be in the US Navy, but I decided to just finish out my contract back in 2008 in order to go to school for nursing. I am a Registered Nurse in Guam now seeking employment, but I currently live here in the Philippines. Is your son military? Or is he a Nurse?
He is military. :-) I can ask him and his wife if he knows of anyone who works at the hospital on the island as a nurse. They have lived there for 2 years. Are you on the island yet?
I'm assuming you have looked at the website USAjobs.gov?
I just now checked out the site. Thanks! I am not on the island yet. I am in the Philippines right now, but am willing to fly straight to Guam if hired. Thank you so much wave! Do they know of any cheap housing or rooms available to be rented out for cheap? I keep on checking craigslist, just cannot find one that fits my budget.
I will text my son and ask who you may call or go to their website and check out rentals. As you know things are so different in Guam than here in the states. I do know rent is not cheap and cost of living is through the roof. BUT if you still have a military ID then you can access the base and take advantage of buying from the PX or is it BX for the Navy? lol
I will let you know what he says as soon as he replies. Of course they are 14 hrs ahead of us here in the states (well, me not you) and he is at work. He typically replies back within a decent amount of time.
Thank you so much for your help! Yep, it sure is not cheap in Guam and very different from the states. I lived there for about 2 months back in 2004. That was when I was joining the Navy. How time flies.... hahaha.... Well then, I'll just be waiting for your reply. Thank you :)
More than welcome! While you are enjoying your afternoon I am getting ready for bed. It's 11:30pm here. I will get back to you soon!
OK. Here we go. He said Century 21 is a good place to start. They have a website Homes for Rent - Guam Real Estate, Century 21 Commonwealth Realty
Also, a good area on the island is the Talafofo and Maite area towards Navy.....south end. He said the rent prices are off the chart over there. Civilians have the competition of the military housing allowance and landlords take full advantage of it. BUT if it is just you and you do not require room for a family then you have a better chance at finding something in a low price range. Best of luck! If you have anymore questions let me know!
thank you and good night wave! hopefully your son can help me out with networking with fellow nurses who are currently working in guam. :)

I have seen travel nurse positions for Guam and I was wondering if English language is the official language of that hospital. Thank you.
