Hello All,
Just thought I would start this thread because applications are due in a little over a month. Just wanted to know who was applying to the program in the spring. I did a preliminary MAR review, and I think I have around 55 points. I haven't taken the TEAS test yet, which I am dreading because I have barely studied for it. I'm going to try to take it in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully a solid two weeks of studying will be enough. With the points that I have, all I have to do is pass the test. Look forward to hearing from more people.
They went over things that need to be done before certain due dates. If you weren't at the orientation session you wouldn't be able to do the drug test/background check because you have to have a certain order form to take to LabCorp for the drug test. Basically they told all the alternates to not do anything that costs money, so if I were you I wouldn't worry about anything. If you're an alternate you basically have to wait to get a phone call/email and then you start the process from there.
Accepted students have to have drug test done and form turned in by November 4th. So I'm assuming based on the event that anyone fails the drug test and background check, that will be when you could expect a call or email from them.
I was wondering if anyone is in the same situation I'm in. They said that just the Nursing classes is only 8 credit hours and if you have Financial Aid to be considered Full-Time (which is 12 hours) we should take other classes to fulfill our degree or prepare for our BSN. From what I've heard from the last class their first semester was around $2000 dollars not sure if that's even including tuition. I'm freaking out because I only have $2263 for Financial Aid. Is anyone else taking any other classes? Has anyone heard anything different in regards to cost of the semester? I'm hoping it was $2000 for everything including tuition.
That $2000 would make sense if you are an out of state student. GTCC charges $72.00 per credit for instate. I'm looking at their tuition page now and 8 credits would be $576. Unless the nursing school costs more, I think the financial aid you were rewarded should cover you that first semester.
Has anyone gotten confirmation from the nursing school that they got your required paper work that was due on the 4th? I haven't heard anything yet and its kind of freaking me out. I called Lori Ann and have left multiple messages and emails, but she has not responded to any of them. I would hate to be kicked out of the program for them not getting information that I know I sent in.
