GTCC ADN Spring 2015

Published

I know it's early but I just couldn't wait any longer for a thread to be started. I took my TEAS test today and passed!!! I've met with the advisor to do my ranking...so I guess it's 3 months of anticipation and hoping I get it. With the new changes in the criteria for the program I can only imagine more people will apply making it more competitive for a seat in the program. Anybody else planning to apply for Spring?

I got in with 39 points, and an 89 on my TEAS test, but the reason that my points were low is because I have been taking my pre-reqs at UNCG and so I don't have the computer or communications classes...but I already have a BA so I'm wondering if maybe that had something to do with it...or maybe I just got lucky because there weren't that many applications. But this was my first and only application, so I guess I just got really lucky

Congrats on getting in!

Congrats on getting in!!! Is everybody going to orientation Oct 30th? It would be cool if we designated a meeting spot so that we could all meet in person.

I'm going to orientation. Excited to meet everybody!

Congratulations on getting in! I have a BA too and that helped give me an extra 5 points so maybe thats what happened with you too. Either way congratulations!!

I'll be at orientation too, maybe a little late cause I have classes that day, but I'll be there!

Can anyone clarify the requirements for the TB Skin Test? I understand that we are required to have a two step TB test within 30 days of each other. But looking at the medical form it states *Annual TB skin test following initial 2 step test* Does that mean we need to have 3 TB Test completed before the October 30th Deadline?

From my understanding, after we get the 2 step tb test done the yearly (annual) tb is once a year. So we only need 2 by the deadline.

That's what I thought. I guess I'm getting paranoid lol. Just want to make sure I've crossed all my T's and dotted all my I's. Thanks for responding.

I am so excited I can't wait to get started, does anyone know if we need to bring money with us on Oct 30, and how much?

Many people told me just to bring my check book and/or credit card. I have a question for those of you who have gotten your TB already. Why is a 2 step test necessary for everyone? Or is that just if you test positive? I am confused on why a normal TB will not suffice if you have not ever been exposed or had it?

I'm not really sure why they require two tb tests. But I work at a doctor office and most ppl that come in that work directly with patients have to get the 2 step. It's seems to be the standard with direct patient care.
