My name is Kimberly, and I am applying for the nursing program at Gwinnett Tech (Fall 2016). I wanted to start a thread to share the nerve racking process with. It is so scary! Also, how's everyone feeling about their Kaplan and GPA? I am extremely nervous about my Kaplan score.

Hello Kimberly,

My name is Lekeia and I, too, am attending GTC for the nursing program. I recently turned my app in for Fall 2016 and I'm SUPER nervous and can't wait until they make a decision. My GPA is a 3.81 and my Kaplan score was an 80. How did you do? Did you submit your app before the deadline?

Those are great scores! Yes, I turned in my application last week and I'm so anxious! I got a 79 on the Kaplan, and I have a 4.0. Not sure how they calculate everything, so I'm hoping my Kaplan score is good enough!

Yes you have great scores as well. Best of luck to the both of us. According to Saadia Jackson, nursing specialist, the lowest they accepted last year for Kaplan was a 79 but she stated the score changes every year. Do you know how many students they accept each year? Also, when will we find out who is accepted into the program?

I know, that's why I'm so nervous about my score. But I am hoping that having a 4.0 gives me a little more of an advantage with a low kaplan. I know they take 60, but I've heard they've taken up to 65 before. We should know by the end of the month. Alot of people find out by checking their transcript. It will show a change in your current program. Instead of saying Healthcare science it will say Nursing.

Oh okay. I hear diff responses from diff people. When I inquired with the Director of Nursing she told me at the end of March, beginning of April í ½í¸¢. I'm praying I'm one of the selected candidates. Good luck!

I spoke with Ms. Jackson today and she said she mails the letters out Monday.

The application said 70 was passing this year.

According to the application last year it was 70 as well but Saadia said the lowest they accepted was 79 last year. The really consider the Kaplan more so than GPA in my opinion. There was someone with 4.0 and 78 Kaplan that didn't get in and I was shocked.

Did you turn your app in by the deadline? If so, you can check the banner website because it will show Nursing as your major. I checked mine and it shows Nursing and verified with Saadia that I was accepted. I'm soooo excited. Best of luck to you
