What I've noticed in the past is that emails are sent to those who are accepted or put on the wait list...

That's strange that they told you they would be sending out letters and emails during the first week of April, when I received an email from them saying that they are sending out letters mid-May.

I asked the lady who answers the phone, so I'm just going off of what she told me.. did you receive that email in response to an email you sent them?

No, I'll copy and paste the email.

Also, can you help me calculate my Program GPA? Is it the same as the institutional GPA? I just transferred from KSU and my GPA there was 3.45 and then it shows at GSU that my institutional GPA is only 3.2. Now I'm super worried

Hmmm.. I never received that email. I did an application update so maybe that's why. Well the program GPA consists of all the core classes you have taken plus the prereqs that pertain to the program. It's not the same as the institutional GPA..

Ok thanks! I checked on degree works and it took out 6 A's that I had from Ksu because they were core classes required for Ksu but not at gsu í ½í¸’í ½í¸’í ½í¸’ it says on there that my program gpa is 3.3 but my math and science gpa is 3.5 and teas is 88.7. Do you think my stats are competitive? Or should I be worried?

Just out of curiosity, where on Degree works does it tell you your program/math & science GPA/ Teas score?

I met with Hugh Grant (nursing advisor) last semester when I previously applied and he told me that a competitive program GPA would be 3.7 and higher, but people have gotten in with as low as 3.4 (that's if they had a high TEAS score and math/science GPA). They do put the most weight on the program GPA though in terms of scoring. But your high teas score could compensate for your lower gpa.

Degree works doesn't specifically give me my math and science gpa or my teas score, I figured those out on my own. I got the teas score when I just checked on the ati website. As for program gpa, there's a gpa on degree works on the top right corner of each section of courses that they split up. It's by this area that says credit hours and gpa. I'm assuming that's program since it showed my 6 a's from kennesaw on the bottom saying it doesn't count towards program gpa.

That's what I figured, but I was just double checking. Thanks!

Also, I just spoke to Hugh Grant on the phone and he said that everyone should hear something back by May 1st.. Good luck!! I'm so anxious.. Have you applied anywhere else?

I think all letters will be out by May, but I have spoken to a few people in the office and they said letters will start going out next week. I was accepted to KSU's and we have to let them know by April 24th. Not sure how delaying the decision will really help them. Remember KSU said they would have theirs out by May too...

Oh and while I am here :) Can anyone give opinions on which is "better" GSU or KSU? I keep getting a mixed bag of opinions.

Congrats on your acceptance into KSU! Both are great, accredited schools, so I'm not sure that one is really "better" than the other. I have a friend currently in the program at GSU and she swears that it's a better program, but of course, that's her biased opinion. One thing that I would take into consideration though is their NCLEX pass rate. GSU's is 91%, not sure about KSU, but I'm sure it's up there. In the end, though, you will get a job with a degree from either school.
