Okay, I am honestly a newby. First year nursing student, first nursing semester. Just about as green as they come.
I am ina group project that is falling apart as I type these words. I am trying to finish my part of the project regarding the psychosocial aspect of this patients problem.
I could use some help with my last psychosocial diagnosis: Dysfunctional Family Processes: Alcoholism
I need to come up with possible etiologies, nursing intervention with rationale and outcome criteria. I know I need a nursing careplan book, but I live in RURAL northern Minnesota. This book will have to be ordered and time will not allow me that opportunity.
Any assistance is appreciated.
Thanks

Jack is a 68 year old man with a history of chronic alcohol abuse. Five years ago, he was diagnoses with cirrhosis of the liver. His wife reports that he recently developed bronchitis accompanied by a persistant cough. He has been admitted into the emergency roo with hematemesis and confusion. Curretly, he is complaining of severe thirst and dizziness. His skin and sclera appear mildly jaundice. The nurse practitioner in the emergency room notes an enlarged spleen and upon rectal examination notes the presence of hemmorrhoids.
