Grossmont Nursing Spring 2017 Cohort

Published

Hi! Good luck to everyone who applied for Spring 2017! I just wanted to start a thread for those of us anxiously awaiting to hear back. I will be applying to Mira Costa and Palomar, as well as SDCCD and southwestern later in the year. How many points does everyone thing they had? From what I've read, it seems like most cohorts hear back in mid-late September. I wish everyone the best!

Thank you Emily... í ½í± I hope you hear back soon from grossmont..

I got in as an alternate to palomar and i got in at grossmont, does anyone know which school is better?

I got into Palomar with around 81 points if I calculated correctly. I got denied from miracosta but I didn't send them my AP English scores because for some reason they said my level 300 English classes for undergrad didn't meet their requirements which was weird and they called and told me they need my AP English scores from high school 9 years ago? Miracosta is pretty far away for me since I live in la mesa so I didn't really care about miracosta that much. I still haven't heard from Grossmont but I retook physiology this summer and got an A so I could replace my C that I got when I took it when I was like 19 but Grossmont's deadline was before my physiology grades were out so I had to submit my old C gradeí ½í¸• So I had more points with Palomar because I had an A to replace that C. Sorry if this is long but yeah I think they're both good programs I know Grossmont does a lot of clinicals at Sharp Grossmont because I work there. Sharp Grossmont is a pretty old hospital and I'm pretty sure Palomar does a lot of clinicals at Palomar which is way nicer and newer. I'm holding out hope for Grossmont though since I live close and Palomar is far.

I would probably go to the one I got into and if palomar calls you up then you have to decide. But I think an important factor is how far away you will have to drive for each program and clinicals.. You will be very busyin the program and a 15 minute commute will be much better than a 40min. Commute.

Hey everyone...I got a no from grossmont just now! Good luck to everyone else!!!

I also got a no from Grossmont.. but I'm planning to re-apply after I complete my CNA and take the TEAS 6. I guess it's not for me/us at the moment. Congratulation to everyone who got in, and for those who got rejected, I wish us all the best of luck next time & don't lose hope.. it'll come to us when we're fully ready for it. In the mean time, we just have to keep on pushing :)

I got a no from Grossmont also but the email says that all applicants who were not invited may still be invited for this cohort. What did everyone else's emails say? Also my cousin who is in her second semester at Grossmont got her invite the day of orientation and they called her and said if you can be there in 3 hours you have a seat. So I'm still hoping I get in! Also if anyone who got into Grossmont but would rather go to Palomar wants to switch me I'll gladly switch you haha.

Yeah, Christy said there's still a possibility to get in.. but idk if I should keep my hopes up for it.. lol

There's still hope but for now we just have to work towards getting more points and keeping our heads up!!

Hey everyone I officially gave up my spot at Palomar so there should be a spot opening up:)

Twiggy where will you be going?
