Grossmont Nursing Spring 2015 Cohort

Published

I know the application period for Spring 2015 cohort ended on 7/31/2014. Does anyone know when rejection/acceptance letters are typically sent? I believe it is via email...

Yes absolutely, however I was told if there are any available spaces after the regular ADN applicants have taken their spot, and my points qualify then I could be accepted. If not no.

Oh, wow. I would think that if they know they are not offering the LVN program (which they should have known by 7/31), they would just automatically put you in with the regular applicants. Have you called them to see if there was enough applicants for the LVN program?

Well, I did call...but just to ask if lvn's could be added to the regular adn program. I didnt think she would tell me that info, so I didn't ask. It would have been good to know though.

Hopefully, they will just add you to the pool of ADN applicants. I will cross my fingers for you :)

Thanks, you might have to cross your toes as well, because I don't have a good feeling about this one but, I will try to stay hopeful;). I appreciate your encouragement and I hope you get in too. It's been a long road.

Yes, a long road indeed! I will cross my toes, too! LOL

I also applied for the lvn-rn program for Spring 2015. Correct me if I'm wrong but lvn-rn applicants will also be accepted based on grade point system right (provided there are more than 10 applicants)? Either way, good luck to all of us who applied!

Hello Moncherie,

Correct, all nursing applicants will be accepted based on the same point system. If your total points meets their admission standards for the application period you will be accepted. As far as the transition program there must be enough qualifying applicants or they will not admit any, they allow 10 students; reading the forum I read they did not have it prior because not enough students applied. However, I was told you can still qualify for the traditional program only if your points qualify and space is deemed available. Im not sure if I answered your question. But, good luck you as well. Have you applied anywhere else?

Hi dreamcatcher! Thanks for the info! I only applied at Grossmont so far but I'm planning on submitting my application to SDCC and Miracosta if I don't get in. I also want to apply to Southwestern but I don't have any work experience yet which I believe is a requirement. That sucks that not enough student applied for the lvn-rn program last time, that is one program wasted =( hoping there will be enough this time.

I hope so too. By the way I think you can do a skills test and pharmacology test at southwestern if you don't have the experience. Also, I think you have to have experience at Miracosta I believe 6 months worth.

Has anyone heard anything yet?
