Grossmont Nursing Spring 2015 Cohort

Published

I know the application period for Spring 2015 cohort ended on 7/31/2014. Does anyone know when rejection/acceptance letters are typically sent? I believe it is via email...

Hey guys! Can someone please give me an idea of their first semester at grossmont? I got accepted into sdcity, but their school schedule is ridiculous Mon&wed class from 8-11; tues&thurs clinicals 8hours but the kicker is Friday is IP testing, which we have to pass in order to move on to the next semester. Are any of you experience this? Please let me know, because I'm at a cross roads about going to grossmont or sdcity

My schedule is Mon 7:30 - 10:50, Tues 8 - 1:50 and Thurs 8 - 1:50. In four weeks I drop the THursday class and have 8 hr clinical on Wednesday instead. We have to go to hospital the night before clinicals to research our patient. We also have an on-line pharm class that requires reading and a weekly quiz on Fridays. We also have to pass a dosage calculation test with 100% this coming Monday.

What is IP testing?

Ip is an ATI testing to see if we understand the material!

So, it tests you to see if you understand the material you just went over that week? That doesn't seem to give you much time to study and absorb it. We don't do that type of testing, at least not yet. I know we will be doing some testing from a Kaplan book, but I don't know if it's similar or not.

I have the long monday schedule. Monday 730 am to 530 pm, wednesday 8am to 150 pm, then when clinicals start it will be monday-same time- and then thurs 8 hour clinicals starting at 630 am

I know this is an older thread, but just wondering if there are any LVN's who didn't get accepted for Spring 2015 and applied for Spring 2016? I'm turning in my application this week and I'm hoping there are enough for the program!

There is a post for Spring 2016 that has LVNs on it :)

Anyone from this cohort please post experience thanks
