Southwestern College ADN 2015
dsmom, I'm sorry your having such hard time, I did too! I was able to get a SEP done with a counselor at Otay and I'm not enrolled. But, I was told I need to have my transcripts evaluated and they said I had to be enrolled to have that done, so I was freaking out about that. However, I was told the director understands that many of the applicants are not current students. I think the counselor mentioned, but dont quote me on it! said that the SEP can be done after acceptance cause I wanted her to edit mine because I added some things but she left it as is and said that. Thats why I said I think you should be ok. I can definitely understand your frustration because I'm also questioning if my application is complete, I asked would they go over them again and was told they would thats why we won't get any news until March.I was also told if you are missing something you are not automatically disqualified, complete applications take priority then they take from incomplete. Good luck

Hello dsmom, I also applied last week. I was told applicants should hear something in March, since they have to go over every application and from what I could see there were tons. I think the SEP was on admission procedure list however, I think you should call a counselor in students services at Otay just to make sure. I think you should be fine because you have to be enrolled at the main campus to have one done there, but Otay campus will assist non enrolled. Good luck to you and let the waiting begin!

Hey agsd88, I'm planning on applying before the deadline. But, I know how it feels to play the waiting game. Well, your points seem pretty decent. I wish you luck.

I also called the nursing dept. yesterday and I was told that it would be another month, so possibly near October. I don't know what happened maybe there are a lot of applications to go through...however I'm just speculating. But I'm a tad disappointed. I just wanted to find out so I could start planning my next move and stop checking for the email every hour...lol

I hope so too. By the way I think you can do a skills test and pharmacology test at southwestern if you don't have the experience. Also, I think you have to have experience at Miracosta I believe 6 months worth. .

Hello Moncherie, Correct, all nursing applicants will be accepted based on the same point system. If your total points meets their admission standards for the application period you will be accepted. As far as the transition program there must be enough qualifying applicants or they will not admit any, they allow 10 students; reading the forum I read they did not have it prior because not enough students applied. However, I was told you can still qualify for the traditional program only if your points qualify and space is deemed available. Im not sure if I answered your question. But, good luck you as well. Have you applied anywhere else?
