Hi all!
I applied to Grossmont's nursing program for Fall 2024. I wanted to start a topic to connect with others that have applied as well! I believe I have 86-90 points which makes me super nervous but I have my fingers crossed! How is everyone else feeling?

Yes, I only applied to Grossmont and Southwestern College. What about you? I am really nervous though because a lot of us have not heard back from SWC at all and to be on the alternate list for this school is just nerve racking.

I applied to quite a few! MiraCosta, Palomar, Santa Barbara CC, etc. but I think I had the most points applying to Grossmont so also a little nervous that this might be my best shot.

Congratulations! Maybe that was me that got your spot LOL. I have a couple coworkers starting at City in the fall. Can I ask what made you decide City over Grossmont? Just out of pure curiosity haha

Well I got into Grossmont last year, set up to start this past January, but they dropped me last minute (months after accepting me) because of a silly transcript error. I got it resolved within 15 minutes and still they said "no it should've been that way when they sent it to us.” They don't send it to me so how would I know?! Also why didn't they see it when I applied?! It sucked and I honestly felt so defeated, but then I got into City. I've already become acquainted with faculty because I'm taking the prep course. (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) is amazing and (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) just really made me feel like this is the place for me the way the genuinely care for the students. I've also made friends already!
Then I got the email from Grossmont and I was torn cause it's closer and I have a better chance at daycare, but I just was honestly scared of leaving City for Grossmont just to get dropped again over something silly.

Oh wow! That honestly is a little nerve-wracking. Do you mind me asking what the error was? I plan on submitting my transcripts today and definitely want to avoid that. But it sounds like you made the right choice! If you get to know (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAMES), those are my coworkers that will be in your cohort 🙂

Lilchach,
I feel you!! I was in the same exact situation. Got my acceptance letter from Grossmont, accepted them. Sent my transcripts and got my pre-acceptance rescinded. I also accepted San Diego City College, I was in the prep course with (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME)! Haha I'm not sure who you are in class but I literally am in the same boat as you. I hope I can reach out to you because I really felt defeated when Grossmont did that to me.
