Hello everyone!

I just wanted to start a topic for this upcoming Grossmont ADN cohort (Fall 2017)! What are everyone's stats? (GPA, Teas, etc). I'm currently focusing on applying to Southwestern since it's due date is at the end of the month!

Hi Danielle! I will go to their orientation, but I also got accepted to Grossmont and I accepted their invitation too, so I guess I will make my final decision after attending SWCs orientation.

Awesome I hope you choose SWC I Just read we are the number one in san diego area and its the 22nd community college in California as well. Their NCLEX pass rate is also increasing. I wonder how they will differ grossmont and swc?

Southwestern has a better trending nclex score . I would recommend southwestern. Just graduated last yr and the program was amazing! The drive is not bad because your always going away from traffic in the morning and then on the way home your going the opposite of traffic. It was nice when I went. Congratulation on the acceptance! í ½í±í ¼í¿¼

Isn't that a bit unfair lol if you decide to go to Grossmont then you just took away a spot for someone being able to go to SWC just bc you wanted to go to SWC orientation.

I do not think it is unfair. tosco94 decision to attend orientation is his decision for his future. I do not think that he has to think of someone else when deciding where to go. its a career choice that could affect HIS/HER life. so thinking about "if i dont go it'll my spot will be given to someone next in line" its a huge decision that he/she has to make for his/her self. This is the real life, yes it is nice to think about others, but this is a decision that could affect his/later years. It is not tosco94 fault that he/she had a better score/gpa than someone who did not make it.

I agree after all if he/she decides not to go then the next person gets in anyways. People are accepted all the way up to the start date. í ½í¸Ž

While it may be unfair for others, I accepted SWC spot because I had to save my spot for a Nursing school, something Ive been working for the past 3 years, and SWC was my first choice and the first program to notify me I was accepted. Grossmont didnt notify me until a couple weeks ago. I still need to go to orientation and ask questions and see which school is going to be a better fit for me. FYI, I am not taking away anyones spot because they accept students all they way before classes start, they even have alternates.

You are 100% right, that's what I said! The spot is still available if you decide not to attend. You have a right to choose which school you want to go to. Swc is my first choice as well. :)

Oops thought they only take students up until orientation, maybe since it's mandatory to attend idk. So later accepted students will miss out on orientation then. I just would've felt bad knowing it's so hard to get in nowadays and one of the good/bad things about me is that I tend to think of others more than myself ._. Oh well hah see you guys at orientation.

I want to say that they hold another orientation or other meetings that the accepted students will attended or perhaps one on one meetings. They will still receive the same information as those at orientation I heard a girl got into school if she was there in 3 hours the day of class of course they would have to have her do all the background check/drug test just like the rest of us students will. Its good to think of others and we all do however, I'm not worried they won't receive the information as its mandatory for everyone to in the program to receive it at some point or another.
