Grossmont ADN Fall 2021

Published

Hey Everyone!
              Just wondering who else applied for the Fall 2021 ADN program at Grossmont College? If so how many points did you apply with? Are you applying anywhere else? I applied with 84 points  to Grossmont and Mira Costa with sights on Palomar next. Keeping my fingers crossed! I wish you all the best though! May the odds be ever in your favor! :)

I’ve declined my seat for SWC as well. I was accepted at Grossmont College too, and am excited for this new journey and to meet all of you. Hope we can all connect soon!

Does anyone know how many seats will be offered at Grossmont?

I created a FB group for our cohort, I’m sure we’ll come up with a better means of communication down the line but figured this could work for now. Please only join if you have accepted your seat in the cohort and committed 100% to Grossmont this Fall ?

Hi!

I am wanting to know you’re experience at SWC and at Grossmont. We’re you all happy w the school you chose? I am torn between Grossmont and SWC.

@Jenreeves1126 I will not be able to tell you my experience about SWC becuase I gave up my spot, and picked Grossmont. From my experience with Grossmont, it has been always positive. The program is very organized, delivers high quality education, prepares you to be an excellent nurse. I love the program and I am so glad that I picked grossmont college. It might be one side story if you are only hearing from grossmont, so it will nice to explore your option with SWC by asking around from previous cohort.  By the way, Grossmont college has 99% NCLEX passing rate.

I was in the same position and decided to go with Grossmont. Grossmont has a 100% NCLEX pass rate, compared to SWC's 89%. Grossmont also has a really great reputation around the hospitals and community. I'm happy with the program so far. They expect a lot and it's challenging, but you will learn so much. I feel like the staff really care about our success and there are also lot of great resources like student success advisors and a mentorship program. I don't know a lot about SWC's program but have heard from coworkers who graduated from the program that they didn't get the support they needed from professors. You should also consider that the program at SWC is going to be at the Otay Mesa campus, not the main campus. Also, Grossmont's classes are only on weekdays while SWC has a weekday AND an evening/weekend program.

I’m at SWC. Declined my seat to Grossmont last year. Wish I didn’t. SWC is a train wreck. And our NCLEX pass rate for the most recent cohort was only 90%… pick Grossmont.

Wow! I am so sorry to hear, thank you for responding…

Are you an LVN already? In the step up program at SWC? That’s my Dilemma I am and lvn already and SWC program is only 1 year for me…

@tuetue and @itsgoingtobeokay,

thank you for your response. I appreciate it. I know that Grossmont has a better reputation and passing rate than SWC. I just don’t like the 2 year vs 1 year option for me as an LVN. If I wasn’t an LVN I’d totally go with Grossmont without hesitation. It’s so difficult to decide… thanks again!

Hello, I know this thread is old. I wanted to see who got accepted to Grossmont  if they are having a good experience. I was accepted to City and in my first semester and I am miserable. Any feedback would be great!

Hello, I’m sorry to hear that. I’m currently in the Grossmont program. It’s kicking my butt(as expected), but overall the experience is going well. Hopefully yours gets better, I know some of the programs have kinks in them considering we’re all the first semesters to come back into classrooms.

Thank you for your response. I know they have their struggles but what I am experiencing is I know not normal. I was accepted to Grossmont but went with city. I’m reapply in June. It’s must more helpful and organized I know. How are you liking Kaplan for your testing?
