Grossmont ADN Fall 2021

Published

Hey Everyone!
Just wondering who else applied for the Fall 2021 ADN program at Grossmont College? If so how many points did you apply with? Are you applying anywhere else? I applied with 84 points  to Grossmont and Mira Costa with sights on Palomar next. Keeping my fingers crossed! I wish you all the best though! May the odds be ever in your favor! :)

I just got accepted with 86 points! I will be declining due to acceptance at southwestern also.

I got accepted with 86 points and I will be taking my seat. Good luck guys!

I got accepted as well with 87 points! I’m torn between swc and grossmont. Swc is closer to home by a few minutes but grossmont has a better reputation and is one of the top ADN programs in the state.

I just got my acceptance email!! Ahhhh!! I believe I had 87 points assuming all of my life points were counted. I will be accepting my seat as Grossmont was my first choice ?

Congratulations to those who were accepted, stoked to meet you and do this thing together! For those who didn’t, DON’T GIVE UP! I was rejected before too. Keep working hard, it will pay off.

Hi! I was wondering if you didn't mind sharing your score when you first applied when you got rejected? And if you have and volunteer/related experience? I applied with a 92-96 but I never heard anything :(. So I am assuming that I won't be getting in this time around.

I honestly do not remember what I applied with the first time, its a bit of a long story. I have been working in a hospital for almost 3 years now, volunteer experience as well, and I also already have a Bachelors degree. So I think those things worked in my favor.

I decided to accept my seat, I had 87 points. Grossmont has such an amazing RN program and I’m extremely excited to start this new journey ❤️ Good luck to everyone still waiting! Once more people get accepted we should start a facebook group!

Im also undecided like you are, I got accepted to both Grossmont and SWC, what drove your decision?

Hi! Grossmont has a better reputation among hospitals, is in the top 10 best RN programs list for CA, and has a 100% NCLEX pass rate. It’s a really great school! SWC is great too, but they’re NCLEX pass rates were a little lower (I think 92% and then 86% the year before?). You also have to think about the fact that SWC nursing school would be in the Otay Mesa campus, not the main Chula Vista campus. If you’re wanting to do an evening/weekend program, SWC has one but Grossmont does not.

Yeah I've been to the SWC Otay Mesa campus, can be a bit far, but I feel like its almost the same amount of time to get to Grossmont for me, its a tough choice... didn't know SWC had an evening program...

Just got accepted into the nursing program at grossmont, I also got into SWC. I am having a hard time deciding where to go. Anyone out there willing to help me?

Accepted to Grossmont today with 89 points.

Declining my spot for SWC.

I prefer the partnership with SDSU at SWC. Grossmont has a partnership with PLNU, and if NCLEX pass rates are important, I’d urge you to look into theirs... ?. A BSN is almost required nowadays to get a job, especially if you plan to stay in San Diego. The cost of living here is outrageous!

I got accepted into Grossmont with 89 points on Monday 5/17/21.

I am declining my seat at SWC. I sent an email to SWC on Tuesday 5/18/21 to let them know that I am declining my seat. Grossmont is a lot closer to where I live and Grossmont is my 1st choices.
