Currently there is a retrogression, well has been in play since Oct 06 and nurses still go through the GC application but now it is taking a few years waiting before you get it and can move and work in the US. You can no longer go to the US and change status as visas need to be current to do that and they are not

There are a few threads discussing this, many many nurses both International students in the US and nurses waiting outside the US that are affected and if you check out the visa bulletin website it will tell you there what current processing times are

My sister in NJ, an ICU nurse, looking for employers that could file me to get in US. she found one, and said that it may took 6-7 months for me to get to US... IS it true that there is still chance to get work to US in less that a year though there is a retrogression?

Thankz

Chances are going to be quite slim that you will get accepted for one of those visas. They require experience first of all for the H1-B and consideration as being a specialist. The US government is currently investigating all of these visas as only 11% went to actual specialists and this is not what it was designed for.

Do not know of any employers in NJ employing with the H1-C designation.
