Great CNM Schools?

Published

Hi all, I am looking for any and all recommendations for CNM schools ? Heres my story: I have been a nurse for about 3 years now and just recently started my dream job in labor and delivery. It's everything I could have hoped for and more. I am also currently in FNP (DNP track) school, online and part time. Everything has been going along fine and I am about 2 years into the program BUT starting in labor and delivery has brought back all sorts of old feelings I previously had about becoming a certified nurse midwife. I work with some truly amazing midwives at my hospital and they make me want to be them. I now know this is the only thing I want to do for the rest of my career. SO now I am in the pickle of figuring out what to do with school. I don't want to waste my time in FNP school but I also don't want to make a decision too quickly and regret it.

I am looking for most likely online programs, either DNP or masters, with great reputations and that won't break the bank. I live in southern New Hampshire so I don't believe there are any programs close by... Any help, guidance, recommendations would be so appreciated, thanks! ?

Frontier sounds like it would be right up your ally!

I can't figure out how to start a new topic, so I will piggyback off this one. I am currently starting my RN-BSN, and planning on going on for my CNM after. Right now my cumulative GPA is 2.7. I know that I will need at least a 3.0 for most of the programs. My question is, if I do my RN-BSN at a different school, will they base it on my GPA from that school? Or do they do an average of both programs. Hope this makes sense.

It would depend on the school---directly ask the admissions advisors at any school you're interested in.  Good luck!

@luvspnk31 I just applied to Frontier and they base it off of your highest nursing degree. So if you get your BSN elsewhere it will be based off of your GPA from your BSN!

So this really confuses me and I admit that I am a foreigner, so that may be why ?

So here's my question:  I could do a whole BSN at a school or just take 30 credits, the other credits would come from my ADN. But are you saying they will only look at the GPA from the 30 credits I took to get my BSN and won't look at my ADN?
