Grayson 2014 Fall ADN Program

U.S.A. Texas

Hi everyone!

I know there have to be some 2014 Fall Applicants out there!!

The lurkers and researchers :)

I'm starting this thread in relation to the upcoming application deadline for Grayson ADN program that starts Fall 2014. I have filled out my application and will be sending it off once I'm able to talk to the nursing department, once the college opens back up so I'll know where to address my application specifically to. I have 27 out of 28 points possible for out of county residents. I'm excieted and eager to see the outcome! I'm not from Denison and do not know much about Grayson College so anyone with information please provide!!!

Hey! This is cisfourcasey. I couldn't remember my password! Anyways, I got accepted! I have to complete my CPR, physical & TB. I just took the background check (fingerprints) yesterday.

Congrats & I wish everyone the best of luck in the program & in their future RN careers. I think I have decided to go with the program at NCTC. They have a much smaller class size, which I think might be better for me. I haven't sent the form back turning Grayson down yet, but I'm going to so they can notify an alternate. I have really agonized over this decision. I really like Grayson. Best of luck everyone, you have worked hard to get this far...now finish strong!

I go on Monday for my fingerprints in Mckinney. After that is that process done and completed or are we still going to be waiting on the blue card in the mail? I have my CPR but it expires March 2015...so I don't know if I should renew it or what? I also have had chicken pox as a child and my records stating so and even a dose of varicella last year so I could do phlebotomy so will I need another or a blood titer proving immunity from it? I'm so anxious. I feel like I am going to forget something.

Hello everyone!

Yeah, I'm also afraid I'm going to forget something. I think I have everything in order but my last thing is getting checked off for varicella. I know I had it but have no proof so have to go get tested. May just get the shot instead, idk. Remember going to a pox-party back in the 80's and getting it, but no proof, lol.

I'm applying for spring 2015 and have 30 points, but still stressed I'm gonna get bounced on a technicality on account of paperwork not being complete. :o

I'm shocked there aren't many more people talking about their acceptance or about the school, period. I am in the process of waiting on my blue card right now! I too have had chicken pox and I also have taken one dose of varicella and my job will be providing me with another in time for orientation. I'm so excited and nervous!

Hello, everyone, and congratulations on getting accepted. I will be applying for the Fall 2015 semester at Grayson and just want to know how the school's nursing program is.

The program is really good in my opinion. All the professors in Nursing 1 want you to do well and you will if you want to do well. All in all, I would recommend Grayson's program to anyone. Good luck on your journey.

I know this an ADN thread, but could anyone give me the deadline for the LVN program for the upcoming Fall 2015? Is it the same deadline as Fall 2015 ADN?

Can any of you help me? on Grayson's point system, how do they calculate their HESI points? Do they give you points on your composite score by itself or do they give points on EACH section?

I just applied for the Fall 2015 class! I am nervous!!! Does anyone know what the cutoff was for past class acceptances? I hate that I won't know until 2nd week in JULY! That is a really long time....

mimi.ricks,

I am sure you might already have an answer for this but it's a composite score. What ever the total % was is your score. Unless you took the A&P portion. Then they will deduct that out and re-figure. :)

89.5% and up gives you 3 points. I can't remember the rest I think 82-89% or something gives you 2 points and 75-79 or 80 to 82 gives you 1 point... it's on their application how they do it.

Did you have your finger prints done before or after you were accepted into the program? I applied for Fall 2015 received an email with information on how to get my finger prints done and to schedule an appointment to do so. I am confused as to why they want us to pay $40 upfront without knowing if we got in. I have 25 points so I'm not sure if I will get in or not I'd hate to be throwing money out the window!
