Grayson 2014 Fall ADN Program

U.S.A. Texas

Hi everyone!

I know there have to be some 2014 Fall Applicants out there!!

The lurkers and researchers :)

I'm starting this thread in relation to the upcoming application deadline for Grayson ADN program that starts Fall 2014. I have filled out my application and will be sending it off once I'm able to talk to the nursing department, once the college opens back up so I'll know where to address my application specifically to. I have 27 out of 28 points possible for out of county residents. I'm excieted and eager to see the outcome! I'm not from Denison and do not know much about Grayson College so anyone with information please provide!!!

I tried talking to the secretary when I turned my transcript in. She was not polite when I asked if I might double check that everything was in order in my file, I am sure it is, but have been told by previous students that you should make sure. (I used to work clerical at the hospital and talked to all the nursing students. Some of them claim to have turned in shot records but when they rechecked on it the records were not in the file so they had to re-turn them in.) She told me to come back after May 27 that that was the earliest I could check. I did catch her about to go for a smoke break, so when I go in on Tuesday I will be a little later. I might try to ask about points then. I feel pretty confident I have 29.

So didn't find out anything, she says she would email if something was missing. Guess no news is good news?

Anyone know when letters are supposed to go out? It seems like it has been an eternity already!

On the website one place says within 2 weeks and the other within 6 weeks, so they don't even know.

Good luck on getting answers. I'll post when I get mine. If you get yours first please post, so I'll know to sit at the mail box. :)

Haha. I will definately post it. Did you apply anywhere else.

I talked to an advisor in the nursing building and she stated about 5-6 weeks after the deadline for transcripts is when we will hear some type of informant on whether we've been accepted or as an alternate.

That's 5 or 6 weeks after May 29! So that's tracking more early/mid JULY!! Thanks, for the info. I thought it might be mid to late June. Oh well, I'll stress and check the mail for that much longer! I wish they had a nursing website that they posted updated info on. I know they are busy and have a lot to go through with all the applications as well though. It's just hard to wait!

I know right! As I stated, I only have 25 points w/ 2 B's in A&P 1&2 and only getting 2 points on HESI. I know I'm not a good candidate for the fall semester. :shy: Praying and hoping something happens though and I can get in for Spring if not Fall.

I only have 26 points. I heard last fall the cut off was 27. I don't get the service area bump but I did get the max points for my HESI (what was that 3? I got a 93) but I had a B in AP I that is dogging me! Stupid divorce! I tried to take AP over a summer and get divorced & move at the same time~ I applied at NCTC as well since I live between the two. Will you retake an AP to raise you points? I'm debating that myself if I don't get in. Or getting my LVN. Not sure.

Actually, I am enrolled in a A&P 2 course that starts July 7th but I am not sure that I can pull off and A but I am willing to try. I hope that I can get more points for Spring admission but I am not sure. It is definitely worth a try. The first time I took it I received an 84 and I'll be honest I didn't really study well I was taking 15 hours and in a CNA class and phlebotomy.

From what I understand (rumors in the nursing hall) as that is where Micro now is taken. Last fall the original cut off was 27, however since many of the students apply for more than one program some of the spots that were awarded where not taken, therefore 3 of the alternates did get in one with as little as 25 points. So if you get a letter that you are an alternate, do not throw it out. Get on the list. It's a big jump from 27 to 25 so you know there had to be plenty of people not accepting the alternate spots, or getting into another school like Paris, or SOSU. Oh, and the Spring alternate cut off turned out to be 23, a girl sitting at the break table told me she got in with 23 points. She was an alternate and fortunate enough to get the call, she had 2 friends that were alternates that did not get the call, so it's no guarantee.

Hey everyone! I applied to Grayson for Fall 2014. I have 26 points. I lost 2 points because I live in Frisco. I really hope the cutoff isn't 27 points. I will be upset if I don't get in! I'm anxious also because the letters are taking forever! Good luck to everyone!
