Anyone starting their prereqs for Nursing at Grayson? Or maybe already in the nursing program there? I could use a study partner! Or maybe some advise about their program. Thanks!:nurse:

Hey just ran across this forum and was wondering if you could give me some info about the Grayson Program. I just got accepted and was wondering what my round about schedule would be. I have 2 kids and am trying to figure out childcare and Grayson won't tell me until August 7th. Like 4 days 8 to 5 or any general guideline or just a heads up???

Thanks,

Rhonda

ill private message you with my number you can call and ill give you the only details i have but its better than none

dcRn2b,

Hey.....I was looking at your other posts and was wandering......have you purchased the books for Fall???? Is there anyway of finding out what books we need before orientation? I have the same money problem...you know not broke enough....what are you going to do? I think I will get a loan. Hopefully I can get a scholarship for next year or extern at a hospital to cover the last year.

Thanks for the info you gave me....I did register for classes.

No I haven't got any books. I don know we buy all our books up front and was told its about 1,200...yikes! But I do know we get our scrubs from scrub world in Denison. Grayson requires specific brand and of course color. The lady that works there has the Grayson scrubs all on their own rack they are 21.00 a piece. Hope that helps. I wish I knew more tho! i would love to skim a book or two from first semester, just to get a head start.

Specializes in Cardiac, Critical Care, LTC.

if i am not mistaken, the bookstore at gcc starts selling books a week before fall classes begin

can anyone tell me how te hesi was im applying this summr for the spring

Hesi was very easy for me. It is basic stuff but easy to miss. I used the study guide and it was very helpful. I needed a refresher on the math like fractions, ratios, vocab, reading even easy grammer stuff. Easy but not doing it in so long. If I wouldn't have had the guide I would have missed easy stuff. I got a 95. Keep in mind I have been out of high school for 10 years. If you live in the collin county area you can have my Hesi study guide otherwise it's at the bookstore for $35 I believe. Let me know. Good Luck.

okay thank you i live in arlington im confident in everyting except the A@P part i dont wont to overstudy that section!!!! lol did you get into grayson nursing school?

Yes...I start in Fall '09. A&P was very easy and has the fewest amount of questions. Very basic anatomy. I took the Hesi 2X and both times it was easy. I had to take it for Brookhaven and for Grayson. First time for Brookhaven I got a 92 for Grayson a 95. I am sure you will do great.

Rhonda

I also found the a&p section very easy it is all anatomy not the physiology. As long as you have basic knowledge of nerves, muscles and what part of the brain controls what you should be fine. I also made an A but I only took it once. I only applied for Grayson thankfully I got in other wise I do not know what I would have done. I didnt have a plan B. Good luck you will do GREAT!

Kace,

If you don't mind me asking, how many points did you have?

Thanks!

I had 26 points. I also had a friend get in and she forgot to turn in her final transcript so she only had 24 points and got in.

Hope that helps.
