Grand Canyon's RN-BSN Program...

U.S.A. Arizona

Hey folks,

I'm toying with the idea of doing the Grand Canyon RN-BSN program. I know that there is some debate about the traditional program, but I think that the RN-BSN has different reqs (aka no religious req classes, etc.) I work for one of the hospitals has an on site program.

How does it work? 6 week classes? For those of you in it, how do you like it?

As far as the RN-bsn, i feel very supported. I've learned that if you put in the effort you will do fine. I am getting very good grades all A's and 1 A- and I am hardly a strait A person

Hey all, I'm an RN traveler w American Mobile..they offer a discount for GCU. Are there clinicals involved?

Thanks!

I've looked into it and if I remember right there are no clinicals for the RN to BSN program.

Only sort of. I am doing the degree online and for the health assessment class I had to get a preceptor that was an NP to observe me doing an assessment. Then the community class requires that you do a community survery but you can do that in any community wherever we are. We have students from all over doing the online version and I have really enjoyed the program so far. It is really a lot of paper writing, discussion questions online and research. I have 4 more classes after my current one. I like to take one at a time so it is taking me a while but there are lots of people that do 2 or even 3 at a time and still work full time. So it is all up to you. But since my employer is paying for it but at a limit each year if I take more than 5 classes a year I end up paying some out of pocket. So I have tried to avoid that but it just takes longer then.
