Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Ok guys, I'm in my first week of Nursing Research and the literature review assignment... I'm stuck trying to come up with a topic for compiling the articles... What topics did you review? I've looked at articles for cardiac arrest, hand hygiene, patient safety, and none that I've seen seem to "fit" the assignment... Thoughts?

Yay!!!!! I'm both exhausted and wired (coffee :) ). I'm very very happy. I just have to get my charge nurse to review it, and I send in that paper. Even if I do really bad on the project, I think I will still pass the class and at this point that is allllll i'm worried about.

5 more weeks and I will be able to wear my fancy new BSN pin. Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Prism, I think it too the professor roughly 3-4 days to get back to me with a grade. Hang in there. I KNOW you did fine.

I did mine on heart failure, ievent2. One article was the difference between a HF clinic and a PCP office, article two Symptoms of elderly with HF. Article 3, Living with HF without realizing it. A qualitative study, Article 4 Learning for HF patients (quant study).

The goal of this assignment is to learn how to find research. If you get stuck, use the GCU librarian. They are amazing.

Unless I am misunderstanding your question, you don't want your subject matter/topic to fit the assignment, like tokmom said you are just finding articles on whatever topic you choose. What area of nursing are you in? I'm a Case Manager (kind of), so I went with the whole discharge planning thing. I knew my PICO was going to center around that topic somehow, so I found articles that talk about how ineffective DCP can really mess someone up once they get home. Remember they have to be good articles though (either quant or qual), definitely research articles.

Now that I think about it, I remember that assignment... I know some instructors allow you to literally copy/paste the abstract right into your paper and you're done - mine, on the other hand, wanted us to rewrite the abstract in our own words?! Oh and the TII still had to be less than 20%? My first goaround it was 34% (at 11pm on a Sunday), had to chop & reword my way down to 19 by midnight. Once I was done I don't think it even remotely resembled what the article people even studied LOL

Seriously hardest week of school ever! I'm sorry I wasn't on here to help! I have had my nose glued to the computer screen....when I have not been freaking out about not being able to get this week done!!! I kept having to tell myself to breathe! Did you get it turned in? Round 2 straight ahead with week 4 for the two of us! At least we have the most awesome teacher ever!!!

Can I yet?? I was going to wait until next weekend when I had that diploma hot off the press in my hand?? Just because I passed, does that mean I'm officially "in the club" already?

I keep obsessively checking LC and my GCU email thinking I'm going to see a message "oh my bad, that was someone else's grade, here's YOURS - F " ???!!! What is wrong with me, I can't even relax, I keep thinking it's not over!?
