Grady Telemetry Interview

Published

Hello. I have an interview Thursday at Grady on a telemetry/intermediate care floor? Just wanted some insight on the interview process. Thanks.

I knew I pretty much had the job because her exact words were, "talk to me before you start your BSN courses so we can discuss tuition reimbursement." Teamplayer, flexible, customer service skills. Key words for any employer.

RN_Student14, can you tell me what type of questions I need to focus on? I too plan on applying at Grady. Can I apply before I sit for boards?

No. You have to pass NCLEX before you apply. I will PM you dear :)

That is such an awesome benefit! Maybe I should've waited to get my BSN, Lol! I have really liked what I have seen of the Women's tower so far. ? excited to get started!

Thanks so much for the info!

RN_Student14, Thank you, and congrats! I got your pm but I can't reply just yet. I have a few more questions that I hope you don't mind answering via pm. I currently see many job postings especially for Icu. I hope there are still plenty of job postings available once I pass nclex. How much is the pay and shift diff for nights and weekends? What type of experience do you have? I only have cna home health experience. And is tuition reimbursement immediate or do you have to work for a certain period of time before it will kick in? Also did you know anyone at Grady to get your application pulled or did you include a cover letter w/ resume? I don't have much experience so I'm trying to see what will work in my favor of getting noticed. How long is orientation and will they teach you additional EKG interpretation or are additional classes included in the residency? How long after your application did it take for you to hear back from them? Sorry for the abundance of questions but Grady is one of my top choices and tuition reinbursement has definitely got me sold!

Thanks you are awesome!!!

You are welcome! :)

You have been so helpful, I was wondering if you could send me the answers to the same questions that motivated mommy asked (pay, what you did to get noticed, how much experience you have). It would be great if you could. I'm getting my resume ready and Grady is my first choice. I know it's harder to get a job without a BSN but obviously you did something right! Thanks in advance

RN_Student14 the mgr. for 5A is wonderful and kind hearted. You will do well. Keep an open mind and jump in and don't be scared to ask questions. Will you be days or evenings? Also make sure you learn the basics to EKG strips so you will be able to transition to the tougher ones. This is a plus with the senior staff and monitors.

Thank you for the advice. I can already tell that she was a kind person. I loved the vibe on the unit and everyone seemed to get along professionally. May I ask you a question. Do you know the usual pt ratio as well as acuity on the unit? And are we monitoring the pts ekg while we are working or are there technicians who monitor the patient's rhythm? Thanks in advance.

RN_Student! It wouldn't let me send you a PM so found this old thread lol... It's my turn to send good vibes your way! Good luck tomorrow ?
