Graduating from 'Pre-Nursing' Student Forum!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I just wanted to share with everyone (as it is tradition), that I have finally been accepted to Nursing School. I am a career changer and I've always wanted to be in the medical field, and now I'm officially on my way. I got into an Accelerated BSN program for the Spring semester. Even though starting January, I'll be an official NS (no more pre-), I promise to visit this forum and give some advice to the next generation of pre-nursing students.

I can't wait to see a lot more of you guys/gals over in the 'Nursing Student' forum. Nice to start my weekend with a big smile. :)

LuLu.. congrats!! It feels wonderful! I just got mine yesterday! I am so excited I am moving on over to the " Nursing Students" Thread!! Can't wait to see everyone over there!!

Noel- Congrats to you too...... I have been lingering around the pre-nursing threads still, just to give congrats to others!!!!

I wish you much success!:clown:

Specializes in Critical Care, Postpartum.

Congrats Noel. I've been lessening my posts on the "Pre-Nursing" forum myself. I have been more active in the NS forum, and I expect to increase even more when I'm actually in the program (probably to vent, rejoice, etc during the process).

I got my student ID yesterday and feels great to be a "Nursing student".

Specializes in ICU / PCU / Telemetry / Oncology.

Oooh, I envy you all :D ... Been fairly resident on this Pre-Nursing Forum since the beginning, for about 20 months now. All my prereqs are done and 3 out of 4 ABSN applications are now in for review for Summer 2011 start. I did get accepted to a 5th school for the Spring 2011 semester, but not only was it bad timing for me to start a program, the cost was prohibitive . So I declined their offer. It was nice for 60 days to be a pseudo-nursing student, but I am sure the status will return again someday, hopefully soon!

Wow 4 ABSN programs. Wishing you all the best. I guess the hardest part is deciding on which school you'll go for.

Well, I have not been accepted to any of those 4 yet. The hardest part is NOW, waiting for decisions :uhoh3: ... I should hope to have to choose among the 4, you know? Thanks for the vote of confidence! The financial aid awards however is usually the deciding factor ... dang it ...

Good luck to you! I know the waiting is horrible.

But as you mention about financial aid rewards, it made think if I should be applying for that stuff now? scholarships? I guess I thought I'd have to wait until I get close to my start which is June 2011. Should I be doing that stuff now?

YAYAYYYY Ladies!! yaayyy US!!! I got my acceptance letter last month...but WOW I was a nervous trainwreck for months waiting! 280 applied and only 40 got in. It hardly feels real. I cried too. OH yes it was just like on TV..i waited for the mailman everyday and I got my letter at the end of the driveway with my dad, opened it and just started screaming!!! THen tears then screaming then phone calling EVERYONE. I am graduating to the General Nursing Forum now, see you on the other side! Good luck everyone!!! But I too promise I will drop by and visit. I have good interview advise and some others tips if youre interested.

Congrats LuLu!!

I just got my package info today about uniform, book list, orientation, etc. I have homework due before school begins, LOL! It's all sinking in now.

Im at that same place right now. We start in January and all this stuff is coming in and I have a huge to do list, including ordering my first stethescope! Its lots of money and very stressful but I looove it!! It is getting real. OMG we are about to start nursing school hahaha! I just wanted this for so long...I woulve been screwed ifr I wasnt accepted.

I would wait till the 2011-2012 financial aid on FASFA is available, then apply unless your program advises you differently.

On another note: yes yaay for all our men and women student nurses!! We mustn't leave out the men. I secretly hope to work with a lot of men at my first RN job. ;)
