Graduates from The University of Illinois Global Campus

I just wanted to know if there was anyone that had graduated from there. How was the entire experience for you? Was it difficult being an online student?

I know you ultimately get your BSN degree from UIC when you graduate out of this program.

As a relatively recent UIUC alum, I can tell you that Global Campus is one big clusterf*** that's likely to implode in the next few years. I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole, at least until it becomes a lot more stable.

Wow. What a bitter response.

I figured Global Campus, as a U of I school, wouldn't be condescended.

It's not condescension to state the facts. I just read the Champaign News-Gazette and the Daily Illini frequently enough to know what's going on. The UIUC faculty senate has never been on board with it, since they're concerned about lack of control and the cheapening of other UofI degrees. Without the participation of faculty and major departments, there's been very few courses and programs developed for Global Campus. As a result, enrollment has been continually below projections, making it a big money sink for the UofI. The current attempt to make Global Campus viable involves getting it accredited as a separate campus and attempting to run it that way. It might work, but since only the upper administration has ever been enthusiastic about it, I'm not holding out much hope.
