I graduated from Nursing school 2years ago. I took my first NCLEX exam in July 06. I didn't pass. I have been dealing with a lot of family illness , and I have been having a lot of test anxiety. I have push my test back, if I don't take the test in March of 08, I will lose the cost of the exam. If there is anyone that can give me any last minute tips, my ears are open.:bowingpur

Welcome to the site
Suzanne' plan is a good one to use but you do need at least 45 days from completing the first part all info can be found in the sticky called 2008 version of Suzanne's plan

I'm in the same boat. But I don't have a dead line. I'm going to try Suzanne's plan. I'm anxious to see any responses you get. I'm so tired of not having my RN. Good luck to you....

I have to say that I was in the same boat but it is possible for you to pass!!!! and you will do it. Here is what i did. I put little stickies of encouragement all over the house and made my self say i can do this and i am claiming my blessing everyday. Scheduled my test for the last possible day on ATT and forced myself to look at it everyday. Then i reviewed saunders using suzanne's first tip. Then while i did her first tip i used the cd and did 100 questions everyday at the same time. making sure i read the rational whether right or wrong. I also read the kaplan book with strategies over and over. Just keep pushing yourself and you can do it. I needed that long break inbetween testing because it paid off!!! Now starting job Feb.4 in peds!!!! its possible!!!:w00t:

I am in the exact same boat as you...I graduated in April of 2006 and still haven't taken my exam...LIke you I was dealing with personal issues..My mother died 4months after I graduated so Studying went completely out the window..I'm just getting back into the groove of studying and trying to stay focused..I have heard good reviews about suzannes study plan so I am currently doing that...I"m still on the first tip trying to quiz, review and study the content I got incorrect on the quizzes...and I plan on emailing her once I'm done..so I will see how it goes from there...Just hang in there...This site is so encouraing..sometimes I get a little down thinking I been out of school way to long and I can't do it but just to log on and to hear others' stories and testimonies give me the motivation I need...
Good Luck Everyone:) we can do this!!

I'm in the same boat also. Graduated 2 years ago. Failed, then we had a baby. My wife went back to work, other two kids in high school and college. I became Mr. Mom.
I now have a greater respect for those of you that went through nursing school with children at home. I couldn't have done it as evidenced by the length of time it's taken me to get back into the swing of things.
Good Luck.
