Graduated from Non Accredited school now i want to attend RN-BSN

Published

Good day,

I recently graduated from a ASN Non accredited nursing school, I would like to obtain my BSN.

Do you think it might be hard to get accepted into Ohio University RN-BSN program?

Did anyone else get their ASN from a non accredited school and currently attend this school?

If I'm accepted will it take longer to complete since I obtained my ASN from an uncredited school?

Thanks in advice

Where do you live? You need to live in Ohio, California, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia. You need your school to be a state-approved accredited program so it sounds like you don't need the ACEN/NLNAC accreditation for an application. However, I do not know if the program has to be in those states or if it could be from anywhere in the US.

You may need to take additional coursework at a community college though.

Straight from the website-

  • You reside in Ohio, California, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or West Virginia *
  • You hold a conferred associate degree or diploma in nursing from a state-board-of-nursing-approved program

nothing about accreditation- contact them for answers to any questions. good luck

Florida.

I was told that I might need to take extra courses, but not sure how many.

If any other students experienced this, please let me know.

Thanks

See if they will do a degree evaluation where you send your transcripts in.
