I start school in september 2004. Overall GPA 3.4, Nursing GPA 3.6, GRE 1030 and 4.5 writing. 17 months (so far) in a Med/Surg/Transplant ICU in a large urban teaching hospital. ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications. Multiple continuing ed classes in Balloon-pump, 12-lead, Hemodynamics, Pharmacology for ICU nurses, and Critical Care. Volunteered for task groups at work.
overall GPA about 3.3, science GPA-3.6, GRE- 1510 (old test). 8 yrs total experience- Emergency Dept.- 5 1/2, Neurosurgical ICU- 2 1/2 yrs Level I trauma center. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CEN. Grades and GRE aren't exceptional, but I did get accepted. I did retake a few science classes this past summer that I had C's in during my undergrad 10 yrs ago.
i am doing my best to remember this right...
overall gpa 3.5
gre 1150 (1180?) math was 500 verbal 650 (or 680)
5 years in multiple ed's
1 year CVICU
certified ACLS, BLS inst, TNCC inst, PALS, Balloon pump, iv cert, aline cert, swan etc....
i interviewed and was accepted prior to my cvicu experience (which brought w/ it many of those certifications....)
they however requested that for my benefit i work in a cvicu for at least 1 year so i didn't start off behind others
Overall GPA 3.5
BSN GPA 3.8
GRE just shy of 2000 (Math + Verbal 1340)
Several years in pediatric and adult ICUs and ERs (I was a traveler for a few years and took whatever day or evening shift area I could get!)
ACLS, PALS, TNCC, IABP
FYI - Contrary to popular belief, being a traveler does not necessarily hurt your chances in the admission game if you have strong prior experience and/or you go to "brand-name" assignments. I get asked that one quite a bit...
FYI II - Please note that above-average numbers do not guarantee admission. I know a number of nurses with very favorable profiles that did not successfully negotiate the admissions game at one school or another- myself included!:wink2:

PLEASE sympathize with the striving and elaborate on this FYI II Athlein.....Thanks.
GPA 3.7 for BSN, 3.4 for MSN and GRE 1100. 9 years in busy ER's with lots of trauma, 2 years M/S ICU and 2 years PICU. I also got interviews and was turned down by a couple of programs before being accepted at Barry University, Yeah! I start in January 2004.
I think that how you present yourself during the interview goes long way as far as maturity and someone who can do graduate level work. Shadowing a CRNA for awhile definitely helps.

I have looked up information regarding statistics for those who have been accepted into anesthesia school and haven't found information regarding the average of grades, GRE scores, years of experiences, certifications, etc. Remember when you were applying for you undergrad, you could find out information about the incoming class and their average gpa, SAT scores, etc. To those of you who are CRNA's and SRNA's or soon to be SRNA's if you don't mind can you post what your gpa, GRE scores, years of experience, and other information so I can get an ideal of what to do to become a CRNA. Thank you for all that reply!!
