This is what I use for my bag: School Health Nurse Pack, Red

Hmm… do u mean my own handbag or the first aid bag for field trips?

If my own handbag, here you go: pulse ox, cpr mask, stethoscope, pen light, knee hammer, bell hammer, blood pressure cuff, small stationery bag (pen, pencil, highlighter, eraser, paper clips, etc.), school nurse note pad, pads, purse (rn license, health insurance cards, etc.), etc.

ABCNurse77,

What a great idea to have your own bag. The bag that came with my office had a B/P cuff whose tubing disintegrated when touched as did the gauze pads. The band aids could be sold as antiques! in place of the mask for CPR they had 5 shields used in teaching CPR. In the past the district allowed the office staff to tell the nurses what to do. Most nurses stayed under three months. Now the district is backing the almost all new nursing staff, I have already stood my ground to a secretary who told me what kind of band-aid to use on a teacher. New supplies on the way but my own bag sounds great! Will set it up this weekend!

Basically my bag is a mobile version of my clinic & it's what I primarily use when I go with my kids to camp so it's a little bigger than some. Besides what's already mentioned above, I keep an extra stethescope in mine, a stopwatch (at the request of my office team who may be responding if I'm off campus, mostly for timing seizures), save a tooth & tooth holders, small bottle of water & paper cups, a couple of feminine pads, digital thermometer & probe covers, a roll of athletic tape, benzalkonium wipes, vaseline, salt. The only topicals my district allows are caladryl & burn jel so I include those & also benedryl for allergic emergencies. I also do not carry hot or cold packs in mine.
