GPC to GSU Transfer

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Sorry to make a new thread for this general question, but I was wondering if any applicant transferred from georgia perimeter to ga state having taken abnormal psychology at georgia perimeter? On the gpc transfer equivalency page, it says that abnormal psych (PSYCH 2621) will transfer, yet on the ga state page it says the class will transfer as "general credit" I was wondering if any current ga state sudent has been awarded credit for that class because it is one of the requirements for the accelereated nursing program.

Thanks

I also forgot to add that I am upset that gsu requires you to take Nurs 2010 Health and Human Development at gsu when it is in fact a class at gpc (PSYC 2103: human lifespan and development) ;p

I think part of the two GPA requirements may have to do with the difficulty of the program. They are assuming if you graduated with a 3.0 u will be willing/capable of doing the work. For those without a degree, asking for a slightly higher GPA also somewhat insures they will be willing/capable of doing the work since they may have only completed a little over 1/2 the required hours as someone who already has a degree.

Hey, guys. The only prereq to taking psych 3140 at GSU is having previously taken psych 1101 (or psych 101, etc) and having had a grade of C or better. Believe me, it's a good thing that this class is a prereq. You NEED this class to do well in Psych nursing. I'm in psych nursing right now, and without taking 3140, I wouldn't be doing very well. It sets you up so that you have a very good knowledge base coming into psych nursing. It's a good thing, trust me.

I agree that it's ridiculous that they make you take Nurs 2010 and HHS 3000 at GSU before starting the program. I guess you pretty much have to commit to GSU, and maybe that's the intention, who knows....

Well this is starting to really stink. I was thinking my first choice would be GSU but since they pull this kind of stuff, I would almost rather burn my money.
