Who's applied to GPC for the fall?
I am new to GPC. Does anyone know if I have to attend new student orientation or just orientation for nursing? Also, I tried calling the school all last week to ask them, and it always said the call volume was too heavy, call back later...then it would hang up on me. Maybe some of you can tell me what to do, but I need to be advised and go to financial aid. Does anyone know if nursing has their own adviser? Do I need to make an appointment for advisement/financial aid? How do I make an appt? When I was there to see admissions (when initially applying to GPC) the line was CRAZY LONG in that building! It looked so chaotic! I do not have all day to wait up there!
@loveleme~ since I attended the very first orientation when I started GPC in 2009, I have never been to a second one. I know as a freshman/transfer student it was required. I could not register for class until i attended orientation. The best time to see an advisor is 8 am, or at least getting there before they do. You can self- advise but you are solely responsible for what you choose.
If you've been accepted to the program just nursing orientation, get there 7:30/8:00 to avoid crazy long lines, nursing does not have it's own advisor, no appointments, first come first served so get there early. Go to GPC website fill out all nessasary paperwork and take it there personally. I hope you've already filled out your FASFA, good luck to you.
Thank you so much you two :) I guess I will plan to be there early tomorrow morning, I have two holds now and still cannot get anyone on the phone...now it says "technical difficulties" and just hangs up on me! I have never experienced anything like this before. Yes, I have filled out my FASFA (was always told to do FASFA when doing taxes!)
Again, thank you SO much for the info! I will be there at 7:30am and try to get some answers!

Make sure that you have changed your major from pre nursing to nursing in the enrollment office beginning Monday. This affects financial aid especially if you have already reached 53 attempted credit hours OR you have "maximum time frame" indicated in SIS, in academic progression. Has everyone registered for Nursing Boot Camp? The registration info is on a pamphlet emailed thru webmail on June 28.
