GPA requirements for nursing school

Published

Hello everyone! I am new to this forum and am in looking for some much needed guidance. I am currently a pre nursing student trying to figure out what i want to do. i would really like to get my BSN and go on to CRNA school. at the moment, i have a 2 year old little girl, i am thinking of getting my RN first and trying to do the rest while working.

question is, what is the minimum GPA to get accepted to an RN program or a BSN program? if you are already in a nursing program, what was your GPA? I currently have all my pre req.'s finished plus a few extras that are related to the medical field htat were not required (i figured it wouldn't hurt) and i have a GPA of 3.360. is this a GPA that i can get into a program with? i just mailed out 4 applications for different schools, YSU being the one BSN program that i applied to. does anyone know if i am qualified for this program?

thanks so much!

Here's copied and pasted from my school ...

For admission to the Generic Program (to become a nurse):

Admissions' decisions are based upon review of the following minimum requirements:

  1. Graduation from High School or a High School Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.);
  2. SAT scores of 1120 or above;
  3. Top 20% of graduating class;
  4. Completion of three science courses with laboratories, including chemistry, with a grade 85 ("B") or better;
  5. Two letters of recommendation; and
  6. A minimum score of 550 on the paper based TOEFL or the equivalent on the internet or internet based test..

I never did 6 ... or at least I think I didn't LOL.

I dunno I came in with a 3.85 or whatever top 10% of my class ... was a magnet high school also ...
