Hello, Long story short I had an interview scheduled for today at 2:30 pm. I get a call at 12:36 pm that they need to move my time to 4:00 pm. Then at 1:16 pm I get another call from them telling me they have to cancel...blah blah blah explanation...and that they will re-contact me to reschedule a time. Now I know things come up in a busy practice, but after reading all their reviews I am happy this happened. My weird question is should I still go to the interview for the interviewing experience?
The reason why I am asking is that I have only done one interview in my new role (FNP). The job I was working at when I graduated was as an independent contractor at a clinic I did a few semesters at for my hours for school. I never interviewed there I just went right to work, but then I I got hurt and had surgery. Now it's been just over 5 mos for recovery, etc I am ready to go back to work, but I am looking for something closer to home (my last job was over 65 miles from home one way).

What do you know about the practice vs what the reviews say? People post bad reviews more often then good ones. Do you have other job options? Will it really hurt anything to give them the opportunity to reschedule you?

Read Liz Ryan's career articles on forbes.com. That will give you all the information you need to into sussing out potential bad employers, fearful managers, you will learn so many things about the work place and how to promote yourself. I highly recommend.

Legitimate issues come up. Take the interview and suss it out. Get a sense of how it might be. You still have the power to turn down an offer if further evaluation reveals they are a bad for for you .

A busy day and schedule changes happen. The experience of going through the interview can only benefit you and prepare you for future interviews. Who knows you may find it a perfect fit, but you won't know unless you check it out.

Go with your gut. I've been in a similar situation, when they finally got around to scheduling the interview, I declined. They showed, in my opinion, disregard for my time.
In your case, I'd reschedule, you may benefit from the interview practice. Besides, I may be completely wrong and the place could be your dream situation.
That's ok, they never called back! BUt I got a better position and with a wonderful Dr.
