I just took my 2nd NCLeX rn yesterday 12/29/2014 and i got 265 questions. My first try shut off at 75 and fail. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ But yesterday i got 265 and still waiting for my result. I feel so nervous. And Im so upset coz i think i selected the wrong answer on my last question. I dont know if its true that if your answer on your last question is wrong you will FAIL and if your answers is correct you will PASS. im so worried. I dont want to celebrate my new years eve of full of loneliness. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜.
Hi everyone,
I wrote my NCLEX on June 23, 2015 (in Canada). After spending a very nerve-wracking 4.5 hours, where I answered ALL 265 questions, I left the examination room with a heavy heart. I knew I failed. The first thing I did after getting into the elevator was Google "pass rate for 265 questions on the NCLEX". I was directed to this website where I read a countless number of posts from fellow nurses-to-be like to me. Some good stuff and some bad stuff. The first post I read was by an individual who wrote the same number of questions as me and described the exact same way I felt. After reading that post 5 times, I calmed down a bit. But by the time I got into my car, I was a nervous wreck again. I listened to sad, depressing songs all the way home. I then decided to do the trick and it gave me the good pop-up. I tried every single day after that, up until the forth business day. I always got the good pop-up but I knew that didn't mean anything as there had been some people who got the good pop-up but didn't pass. Regardless, it gave me a glimmer of hope. Since I wrote my exam on a Thursday, I didn't receive my results until the following Wednesday (4 business days, but 6 agonizing days of waiting because of the weekend that fell in between). Finally, I received my results and I had passed!
I normally never post anything but I'm writing this post in hopes of at least giving one future nurse a chance to calm down and offer them the possibility that there is hope even after writing 265 questions. As a tip, my biggest mistake was keeping both the timer and the number of questions in view (top right hand corner) when writing the exam. Every few seconds, I would nervously glance at the corner and my heart would race a little more at the prospect of having to do more questions. By the 220th question, I knew there was no way that I wouldn't finish until the 265th question. So I took my time, hid the clock and answered every question to the best of my ability. Who knows...had I done that from the start, perhaps I wouldn't have been sitting there doing every single question. It doesn't matter now because in the end I passed.
