I didn't get the happy, "Everything looked fine," letter. I got the ominous, "Please call about your mammogram," phone call. *sigh* I had a fibroadenoma removed from my right breast about ten years ago and got another, "please call us," phone call about five years ago (cysts in left breast). For being so stinking small, they have sure caused me enough problems. :icon_roll
I'm scheduled for a spot compression mammo (yay! my favorite thing!) and possible ultrasound on 3/13. Pat me on the head and tell me I'll be okay. Thanks.
Penny
Sending hugs and prayers to both of you!!!!
I had my first mammogram after my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer many years ago - they called the next day to say they "saw something that they needed to get a closer look at," and wanted me to take another appt that was 2 weeks in the future. Needless to say, I started bawling on the phone, explaining why I had the mammogram done and they found an appointment the next day. Thankfully, it turned out to be a benign issue, but I still had followups every 6 months for 2 years........
Lots of hugs!!!

I am glad they got you in faster under the circumstances. That would have been really unfair to have made you wait.
No news yet Penny but I just had the repeat mammo with compression views on Monday March 10th. They said it would take approx a week for the MD to get the results. How about you?
I go in tomorrow. Stay tuned. ;-)
The last time this happened the ultrasound tech (after issuing the standard disclaimer of, "Don't quote me on this, but to me this looks like...") told me she felt certain she was looking at three cysts. The official report backed her up. Since it's the same breast this time, I'm hoping the buggers are just a little bigger, or something.
It's a HAPPY boobie!
The benefit of going to the Shiny Big Place is a in-house radiologist. It's about a three hour appointment, but the results are instant. The spot compression and ultrasound showed all is well. What I have in my hand reads, "After careful examination, the original area of concern was an area of overlapping fibrous breast tissue and appears normal."
Why yes, I AM drinking a glass of wine!
I have to go back in six months for a follow up, but it looks good.
Thanks for all the good thoughts!!! Kymmi, keep us posted. Prayers continue from here, for sure.

Aw, thanks, honey. I hope I will be checking back in a couple of weeks to announce that all is well! I'll let you know.
You rock.
