So fortunately, I got a job offer in a nurse residency program. I graduated last May and just passed the NCLEX for the first time this month. After graduation I was stuck overseas for a few months.Anyway, I am so thankful that I got the job because I really like this hospital and the program is ideal for me. However, the manager gave me a phone number to call for screening and what not before the start date. She also asked if I had any questions asbout the program. She told me a few other things but due to my excitement... I forgot to ask her about the salary.
I have an idea of what it is going to be. But should I call back and ask her? Or since I don't see it as a big deal, maybe not call. Do you think she will be wondering why I didn't ask?
I did the same thing! I went to the HR department and to,d them I forgot to ask. She looked it up and it was a low ball salary. I asked HR if we could negotiate and she said yes.
Don't be afraid to ask.
