Got F1 visa interview tomorrow any tips?

Published

Hi all,

I usually post on the international forum but thought there may be more replies to this one here.

Me and my husband are in the UK and fly tomorrow to London for our F1 visa interview (F2 for my husband he is my dependant) I have been accepted on the Nursing course at Burlington Community college in New Jersey.

I have received my I-20 from the nursing school I applied to for me and my husband. We are both 35 been married 5 years. We will be living with my sister in New Jersey.

The documents I am taking to interview with me are.....

I-20 and admission letter to college,

Sevris Fee Receipt

Letter from my bank stating I have $58,000 dollars in my savings account for immediate withdraw. (I-20 states need $18,000 for fees and living)

Bank statement confirming funds,

Proof of my UK address like gas and telephone bills,

Letter from my employer stating I am taking an unpaid career break from my job to do further training relevent to my career and I remain in full time employment of the NHS. It states on my return my job restarts and I will be eligible for major promotion because of the new qualification I want to get in usa. Letter also confirms I have made arrangments to continue paying my pension contributions while away.

All the immigration forms required.

I have my fingers crossed I will get my visa, I think the most likely question they will ask my husband is what is he going to do while in usa. His answer is going to be "Nothing enjoy the break I have been working since I was 15. Also his job is being kept open for him to"

Anything else we can do, what do you think our chances are? I am so nervous!!!!

You should be OK. :) Make sure you know what you can do while being on F1 and F2 (study, work, including chores at home!).

Good luck. :)
